Sakurai Line
The is a railway line operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) in Nara Prefecture. It connects Nara on the Yamatoji Line to Takada on the Wakayama Line, with some services continuing on the Wakayama Line to Ōji Station, and then to JR Namba on the Yamatoji Line. Starting on March 13, 2010, it is referred to by the nickname " in reference to the large number of ancient landmarks along the line's route. History The Osaka Railway Co. opened the Takada - Sakurai section in 1893, and the Nara Railway Co. opened the Sakurai - Kyobate section in 1898, extending the line to Nara the following year. In 1900 the Osaka Railway Co. merged with the Kansai Railway Co., and the Nara Railway Co. did likewise in 1905. In 1907 the Kansai Railway Co. was nationalised. CTC signalling was commissioned in 1979, and the line was electrified in 1980. Freight services ceased in 1983. Regional Rail
Regional rail, also known as local trains and stopping trains, are passenger rail services that operate between towns and cities. These trains operate with more stops over shorter distances than inter-city rail, but fewer stops and faster service than commuter rail. Regional rail services operate beyond the limits of urban areas, and either connect similarly-sized smaller cities and towns, or cities and surrounding towns, outside or at the outer rim of a suburban belt. Regional rail normally operates with an even service load throughout the day, although slightly increased services may be provided during rush-hour. Yagi-nishiguchi Station
is a railway station on the Kintetsu Kashihara Line, located in Kashihara, Nara, Japan. It is a typical small station, but has a unique status as a non-independent station. For a historical reason, the station is a part of Yamato-Yagi Station, a large intersection station located about 300 meters north of the station. History The station is the original site of Yamato-Yagi Station which opened here in 1923 and moved to the present location in 1929 when the railway company did not remove the original platforms of the station and continued the service with the old facilities as well as the new Yamato-Yagi Station. Yagi-nishiguchi Station is therefore treated as the same station as Yamato-Yagi Station on some occasions, such as the calculation of distance-based fares. It connects Yamato-Saidaiji Station and Kashiharajingu-mae Station. Tenri Line
The is a railway line of Kintetsu Railway in Nara Prefecture, Japan connecting Hirahata Station in Yamato-Kōriyama and Tenri Station in Tenri. The line has four stations including the terminal Tenri and the transfer station Hirahata.
