Saks is a census-designated place (CDP) and Unincorporated community in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 9,956. The community of Saks is served by the City of Anniston police and fire coverage. It is included in the Anniston-Oxford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Saks is located southwest of the center of Calhoun County at 33°42'29.527" North, 85°50'39.574" West (33.708202, -85.844326). It is bordered by the city of Anniston to the southeast, by Alexandria to the north, and by West End-Cobb Town to the south. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community of Saks has a total area of , of which is land and , or 0.33%, is water. Demographics Saks first appeared on the 1970 U.S. Census as the unincorporated place of "Anniston Northwest." Saks Fifth Avenue (originally Saks & Company; Colloquialism, colloquially Saks) is an American Luxury goods, luxury department store chain headquartered in New York City and founded by Andrew Saks. The original store opened in the F Street and 7th Street shopping districts, F Street shopping district of Washington, D.C. in 1867. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) is a small-angle scattering technique by which nanoscale density differences in a sample can be quantified. This means that it can determine nanoparticle size distributions, resolve the size and shape of (monodisperse) macromolecules, determine pore sizes, characteristic distances of partially ordered materials, and much more. This is achieved by analyzing the elastic scattering behaviour of X-rays when travelling through the material, recording their scattering at small angles (typically 0.1 – 10°, hence the "Small-angle" in its name). It belongs to the family of small-angle scattering (SAS) techniques along with small-angle neutron scattering, and is typically done using hard X-rays with a wavelength of 0.07 – 0.2 nm..
