There was a Post Office 1881-1970 and it was established about 1850 as Louisbourg: formerly called Boucher Settlement for Eusèbe Boucher, Joseph Boucher and Antoine Boucher, who were early settlers in the area and in 1898 Saint-Norbert was a farming and lumbering settlement with 1 post office, 2 stores, 1 church and a population of 200. New Brunswick (french: Nouveau-Brunswick, , locally ) is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. It is one of the three Maritime provinces and one of the four Atlantic provinces. It is the only province with both English and French as its official languages. New Brunswick is bordered by Quebec to the north, Nova Scotia to the east, the Gulf of Saint Lawrence to the northeast, the Bay of Fundy to the southeast, and the U.S. state of Maine to the west. For governance purposes it is divided between Richibucto 15 Indian reserve and the local service district of the parish of Weldford, which is a member of the Kent Regional Service Commission (KRSC). Joseph Boucher
Joseph Boucher (December 30, 1747 – November 28, 1813) was a farmer and political figure in Lower Canada. He represented Cornwallis, Manitoba in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada from 1800 to 1804. He was born in Rivière-Ouelle, the son of Joseph Boucher and Magdeleine-Salomée Fortin. In 1771, he married Rose Michaud. Boucher served as a captain in the militia. He did not run for reelection to the assembly in 1804. Boucher died in Rivière-Ouelle at the age of 65. His grand-nephew Jean-Charles Chapais served in the Quebec assembly and the Canadian senate.
