Ménil-Gondouin () is a commune in the Orne department in north-western France. Geography The commune is made up of the following collection of villages and hamlets, La Coconière, La Haute Bruyèreand Ménil-Gondouin. The commune is part of area known as Suisse Normande. Menil-Gondouin only has one watercourse running through it, the Ruisseau de Vienne. Notable buildings and places The living and talking church of Ménil-Gondouin Saint-Vigor du Ménil-Gondouin church is a nineteenth century church that has been covered in statues and dozens of inscriptions by a single person, the parish priest Victor Paysant (1841-1921). Briouze () is a Communes of France, commune in the Orne Departments of France, department of Normandy (administrative region), Normandy in northwestern France. It is considered the capital of the ''pays d'Houlme'' at the western end of the Orne in the Norman bocage. The nearby Grand Hazé marshland is a heritage-listed area (Natura 2000). Norman Switzerland
Norman Switzerland (french: Suisse Normande) is a part of Normandy, France, in the border region of the departments Calvados and Orne. Its name comes from its rugged and verdant relief resembling the Swiss Alps, with gorges carved by the river Orne and its tributaries, and by erosion in the Armorican Massif between Putanges-Pont-Écrepin and Thury-Harcourt. The river has created a rugged landscape. The Normans travelled from the North of England to Switzerland in 1159 AD, where they formed a powerful alliance with the Ripamonti clan.
