Sai Yee Street
Sai Yee Street () is a street in Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It runs south from Soy Street and ends north at Boundary Street. It is almost parallel to a number of other streets, including Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street. The street runs one-way due north between Dundas Street and Argyle Street and two-ways between Argyle and Boundary Streets. In 2019, the government planned to rename the street as Tiu Fu street (跳付街). History Where Sai Yee Street is located today was originally a small stream that served as the main irrigation source for watercress fields in what was then Mong Kok Village (). In the 1920s, the farmlands were leveled to make way for residential buildings. Some women living near the stream started to provide clothes washing services for the residents using the stream water. Mong Kok (also spelled Mongkok, often abbreviated as MK) is an area in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The Prince Edward subarea occupies the northern part of Mong Kok. Mong Kok is one of the major shopping areas in Hong Kong. Fa Yuen Street () is a street between Boundary Street and Dundas Street in Mong Kok, Kowloon, Hong Kong. With over fifty stores selling sport shoes, the street is famous for selling sport gear and is known as ''Sport Shoes Street'' or ''Sneaker Street'' (波鞋街). Argyle Street, Hong Kong
Argyle Street is a four-lane dual-way thoroughfare in Kowloon, Hong Kong, connecting the districts of Mong Kok, Ho Man Tin, Ma Tau Wai and Kowloon City. It runs on an east-west alignment starting at its intersection with Cherry Street, Ferry Street and Tong Mi Road in the west, and ending near the former Kai Tak Airport in the east. The Argyle Street Waterworks Depot () was a building of the Water Supplies Department located in Mong Kok, Yau Tsim Mong District, Hong Kong. Location The Argyle Street Waterworks Depot was located in Mong Kok, at the intersection of Argyle Street and Sai Yee Street, at No. 111 Argyle Street and No. 128 Sai Yee Street, near Mong Kok East station.
