Adam Sahakyan
Adam Sahakyan ( hy, Ադամ Սահակյան; 19 August 1996, Yerevan – 2 April 2016, Jrakan) was an Armenians, Armenian sergeant of the Armed Forces of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army. In 2016 he was posthumously awarded the Hero of Artsakh military award, which is the highest honorary title of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. Early life He was born in the family of the journalist and director Gayane Antonyan and Khachatur Sahakyan. He has an elder brother Mushegh Sahakyan. Bako Sahakyan
Bako Sahaki Sahakyan ( hy, Բակո Սահակի Սահակյան; born 30 August 1960) is an Artsakhi politician who served as the third president of the ''de facto''-independent Republic of Artsakh from 2007 to 2020. He is the longest-serving president of Artsakh. He was first elected as President on 19 July 2007. On 19 July 2012, he was re-elected for a second five-year term, receiving approximately two-thirds of the votes. In 2017, he was re-elected indirectly for a three-year term. Sahakyan replaced Arkadi Ghukasyan, who had held the presidential post for two five-year terms. Sahakyan was born on 30 August 1960 in Stepanakert, capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast within the Azerbaijan SSR. Aramais Sahakyan ( hy, Արամայիս Սահակյան, May 24, 1936 – March 14, 2013) was an Armenian poet, humorist, publicist and translator. Biography Sahakyan was born in Artsvashen, Armenian SSR. A graduate of the Armenian State Teacher Training Institute's (now university) Language and History Department, Sahakyan later took higher literary courses at the Moscow Maxim Gorky Institute. In the 1960s he was a publisher for the Armenian periodicals ''Avanguard'' and ''Garun'' ('Spring,' a literary monthly). From 1970 till 1971, Sahakyan worked at the State Commission of the Armenian Television and Radio. He was better known for his humor weekly, ''Vozni'' ('Hedgehog'), where he was editor-in-chief for over 30 years (1982–2013). Galust Grigorii Sahakyan (Armenian:Գալուստ Գրիգորիի Սահակյան; 8 April 1949 – 18 December 2022) was an Armenian politician and statesman, who served as MP, and the  President of the National Assembly of Armenia. Samvel Ter-Sahakyan ( hy, Սամվել Տեր-Սահակյան; born 19 September 1993) is an Armenian chess grandmaster. He won the 2003 Under 10 and 2009 Under 18 European Youth Chess Championship. He completed the Grandmaster requirements on 18 September 2008 during the European U16 championship, when his rating reached 2500, the title confirmed by FIDE in 2009. Gevorg Sahakyan (born 15 January 1990) is a Polish Greco-Roman wrestler of Armenian origin. He is a two-time bronze medalist at the World Wrestling Championships and a silver medalist at the European Wrestling Championships. Career In 2018, Sahakyan won one of the bronze medals in the men's Greco-Roman 67kg event at the World Wrestling Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. Robert Arshavirovich Sahakyants ( hy, Ռոբերտ Սահակյանց, russian: Роберт Аршавирович Саакянц, 30 August 1950 – 24 September 2009) was an Armenians, Armenian animator in the former Soviet Union and Armenia. Life Sahakyants was born in Baku, in Soviet Azerbaijan, on 30 August 1950. In 1964, he and his family moved to Yerevan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Armenia. Since 1970, he has worked at the Armenfilm film studio as an animator, and since 1972 as an animated director. He was the author of many cartoons and in 1987, was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Armenian SSR, Honored Art Worker of the Armenian SSR. In the same year, his animated film, ''The Lesson (1987 film), The Lesson'', was shown at the Soviet Union film festival where it won an award. Anushavan Sahakyan
Anushavan Sahakyan ( hy, Անուշավան Սահակյան, born 23 January 1972) is a retired Armenian Freestyle wrestler. He became a European Champion in 1994. Biography Sahakyan was born on 23 January 1972 in Yerevan. He began to practice freestyle wrestling at the age of 12 under the coaching of Yuri Babayan. In 1990 he became a Junior World Champion. From 1993 to 1999, he was a member of the national freestyle wrestling team of Armenia. The largest success in his career was winning the gold medal at the 1994 European Wrestling Championships. In the finals he defeated Russian Bagavdin Umakhanov, a two-time European Champion. Avetik Hovhannesi Sahakian ( hy, Աւետիք Սահակեան; 1863–1933), also known as Father Abraham, was an Armenian politician, the Parliamentary President (speaker) of the First Republic of Armenia in 1918–19, the social security minister and member of ARF Dashnaktsutiun Eastern Bureau. Artsakh, officially the Republic of Artsakh () or the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (),, is a list of states with limited recognition, breakaway state in the South Caucasus whose territory is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan.
