Robert Sahakyants
Robert Arshavirovich Sahakyants ( hy, Ռոբերտ Սահակյանց, russian: Роберт Аршавирович Саакянц, 30 August 1950 – 24 September 2009) was an Armenians, Armenian animator in the former Soviet Union and Armenia. Life Sahakyants was born in Baku, in Soviet Azerbaijan, on 30 August 1950. In 1964, he and his family moved to Yerevan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Armenia. Since 1970, he has worked at the Armenfilm film studio as an animator, and since 1972 as an animated director. He was the author of many cartoons and in 1987, was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Armenian SSR, Honored Art Worker of the Armenian SSR. In the same year, his animated film, ''The Lesson (1987 film), The Lesson'', was shown at the Soviet Union film festival where it won an award. The Lesson (1987 Film)
''The Lesson'' (russian: Урок, Urok, hy, Դաս) is a Soviet-Armenian science fiction animated short film directed by Armenian animator Robert Sahakyants, produced by the Armenfilm studio. Plot In the far future, a starship arrives to orbit an unexplored planet. A group of hunters and thrill-seekers lands on the planet. On the surface of the planet is detected life: unknown animals and vegetation, which look caricatures to terrestrial counterparts. A frivolous extermination of the local fauna and flora by earthlings begins. The only woman in the team becomes a witness to how the local laws of nature work: if one creature kills another, then the killer is reborn as the victim. Moreover, this rule works both for aggressive intruders and for the animals themselves. The woman tries to warn the crew, but they don't listen, and most of the crew are reborn as local creatures. Honored Artist of Armenia is an award given by the Republic of Armenia. It was established in 2002 as "Honorary Titles of the Republic of Armenia in Science, Education, Journalism, Culture, Arts, Health, Physical Culture and Sports".
