Safura Alizadeh
Safura Alizadeh Aliyev (born 20 September 1992) is an Azerbaijani pop singer. In 2009, she became the winner of the national contest "Pop Idol" (season 8). In 2010, Safura took part in the Eurovision Song Contest, where she brought Azerbaijan on 5th place in the final, with the song ''Drip Drop'', where she only was 17 years old. With ''Drip Drop'', she reached the sales charts in Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Belgium and Turkey. Early life Safura's father is a professional painter and her mother is a pianist. Safura began singing when she was very young and made her first stage appearance at the age of 6. In the course of her career, she sang in children's bands "Sharg Ulduzlari" and "Bulbullar". ''It's My War'' is the debut album of Azerbaijani musician Safura Alizadeh. The album was recorded in Sweden and includes the single " Drip Drop", Safura's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The album was recorded over a period of months. It has been released under the labels of Zaphire and Alive records. Background Being recorded in Sweden, the album was released in most European countries on 18 June 2010. Apart from " Drip Drop", the album features twelve other pop and R&B pieces. Safura was picked to sing the single at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and the single was released under BIP records, which gave Safura full rights to the single so she could include the single in her debut album. Aysel Teymurzadeh ( az, Aysel Məhəmməd qızı Teymurzadə; born 25 April 1989, Baku) is an Azerbaijani pop and R&B singer. She has become well known after singing the song "Always" along with Arash during the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow finishing third. Biography Aysel was born in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, the youngest of the three daughters of a journalist and university professor. She is a descendant of the nineteenth-century Azerbaijani author and journalist Hasan bey Zardabi. Her maternal grandmother was half-Russian, half-Ukrainian. Aysel started to sing at the age of four and the piano became her passion since childhood. Azerbaijani hip hop ( az, Azərbaycan hip-hopu) is the musical genre which became popular in Azerbaijan in mid-1990s. It's a mix of native meykhana genre of Azerbaijani music with Western hip hop. History The first Azerbaijani hip-hop song "Dünənki keçdi" (Yesterday is Past), created in 1983 by Chingiz Mustafayev, who would later become Azerbaijan's national hero for unrelated reasons. The pioneer of Azerbaijani rap often associated with name of Anar Nagilbaz in 1992, which also included elements of disco but the popularity of the rap genre came with the rise of Dayirman, which included primarily patriotic elements. Azerbaijani Rock
Azerbaijani rock ( az, Azərbaycan roku) is a wide variety of forms of rock music made in Azerbaijan or by artists of Azerbaijani descent. History Soviet Era Rock was greatly restricted for most of the period Azerbaijan was under Soviet rule, being viewed by the CPSU as a Western anti-socialist influence. Among the most recognized groups of the Soviet era were Coldünya, Yuxu, Eksulap and Khurramids. 60s-70s 1960s was the period when Azerbaijani rock was formed. Leading bands of this period were namely Eskulap (1966), Khurramids (1969), Express-118, Pazavang and Uvet which were mainly playing soft rock and blues. Azerbaijani pop music ( az, Azərbaycan pop musiqisi) is a pop music created in Azerbaijan. The emergence of Azerbaijani pop music dates back to the mid-20th century. Natiq Aghaami oglu Aliyev ( az, Natiq Ağaəmi oğlu Əliyev; November 23, 1947 – June 9, 2017) was an Azerbaijani politician. He served as the president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and was the Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Republic at the time of his death. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list.
