Behjat Sadr ( fa, بهجت صدر, 29 May 1924 – 11 August 2009), also known as Behjat Sadr Mahallāti, was an Iranian modern art painter whose works have been exhibited in New York, Paris, and Rome. Sadr is known for her paintings that utilizing a palette knife on canvases to create impressionistic paintings featuring visual rhythm, movement and geometric shapes. Biography Behjat Sadr Mahallāti was born to Mohammad Sadr-e Mahallāti and Qamar Amini Sadr in Arak, Iran on 29 May 1924. Sadr began her studies at the University of Tehran faculty of fine arts. She later attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli in Naples. Sadr's first major exhibition was at the twenty-eighth Venice Biennial in 1956. In 1957, Sadr returned to the University of Tehran as a member of faculty and taught there for almost 20 years. Hamid Reza Sadr ( fa, حمیدرضا صدر, 19 April 1956 – 16 July 2021) was an Iranian football and film critic, journalist, author, university professor, historian, and economist. Sadr earned a Ph.D. in urban planning after studying at both the University of Tehran and the University of Leeds in England. Ibrahim Sadr (; born Khodaidad), sometimes written Ibrahim Sadar, is a senior Taliban official serving as the acting deputy minister of interior affairs of Afghanistan since 21 September 2021. Javad Sadr ( fa, جواد صدر; 1912–1990) was an Iranian diplomat and politician who held various public and cabinet posts. He was one of the Iranian ambassadors to Japan. He was the minister of interior and minister of justice in the 1960s. Early life and education Sadr was born in Tehran in 1912. Mohsen Sadr ( fa, محسن صدر; also known by his title: Sadr ol-Ashraf I (1871 – 19 October 1962) was a Prime Minister of Iran. Shadi Sadr ( fa, شادی صدر; born 1974) is an Iranian lawyer, human rights advocate, essayist and journalist. She co-founded Justice for Iran (JFI) in 2010 and is the Executive Director of the NGO.
