Saddle Tramp (film)
''Saddle Tramp'' is a 1950 American Western film directed by Hugo Fregonese and starring Joel McCrea and Wanda Hendrix.Nott p.85-86 Its uncredited theme song was " The Cry of the Wild Goose" by Frankie Laine. Plot While travelling through Nevada enroute to California, "saddle tramp" Chuck Conner stays overnight with an old close friend. After the friend is killed falling from his horse, "Uncle Chuck" feels a duty to look after his four young boys, whose mother had died previously. He takes a job on a local ranch, but must conceal his new family from his employer. He also takes in a young woman who has run away from home, and she assists him to tackle a gang of cattle rustlers. Gordon Gebert
Gordon Alan Gebert (born October 17, 1941) is an American former child actor, architect, and professor predominantly known for playing Janet Leigh's son in ''Holiday Affair'' and for smaller roles. In adulthood, he trained as an architect and has taught at The City College of New York. Biography Gebert was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1941 to Gordon and Violette Gebert. His father was a salesman for a trailer company and sold truck and bus fleets for Ford Motor Company in Iowa. In 1948, Gebert, aged seven, moved with his family to Van Nuys, California. In 1949 Gebert was cast as WWII widow Janet Leigh's son in the movie ''Holiday Affair''. Thereafter, he appeared in nine full-length feature films, including the highly regarded films noir ''The Narrow Margin'' and ''The House on Telegraph Hill'', and two shorts released between 1950 and 1970, always playing the role of a son. Horacio Paul Picerni (December 1, 1922 – January 12, 2011) was an American actor in film and television, perhaps best known today in the role of Federal Agent Lee Hobson, second-in-command to Robert Stack's Eliot Ness, in the ABC hit television series, ''The Untouchables''. Early years Picerni was born in New York City to an Italian family. Raised in Corona, Queens, he was an Eagle Scout in his youth and adolescence. After high school, Picerni studied drama at Loyola University. Military service Picerni joined the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and served as a B-24 Liberator bombardier in the China-Burma-India Theater. He flew twenty-five combat missions with the 493rd Bomb Squadron of the 7th Bomb Group and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. Peter Leeds (May 30, 1917 – November 12, 1996) was an American actor who appeared on television more than 8,000 times and also had many film, Broadway, and radio credits. Joaquin Garay (November 15, 1911 – September 13, 1990) was a Mexican actor and singer known for voicing Panchito Pistoles in the 1944 Walt Disney film ''The Three Caballeros''. Career Born in El Oro, Mexico, Garay came to America at eleven months. He was a well-known radio performer in the 1940s, and opened the popular Copacabana nightclub in September 1941, which was frequented by visiting Hollywood celebrities. He hosted shows in the nightclub and performed in vaudeville, and recorded an album in the mid-40s, "A Night at Joaquin Garay's Copacabana". Garay voiced the Mexican rooster Panchito in 1944, teaming up with Clarence Nash as Donald Duck and José Oliveira as José Carioca to sing ''The Three Caballeros title song. Walter Darwin Coy (January 31, 1909 – December 11, 1974) was an American stage, radio, film, and, principally, television actor, arguably most well known as John Wayne's character's brother in ''The Searchers'' (1956). Early years Originally from Great Falls, Montana, Coy was the son of Theodore Coy, who had a furniture store. The family moved to Seattle, Washington, around 1923. He played varsity football at the University of Washington and majored in dramatics. Before Coy became an actor, he worked at salmon canneries in Alaska. In 1929, he moved to New York.
