Joaquin Garay
Joaquin Garay (November 15, 1911 – September 13, 1990) was a Mexican actor and singer known for voicing Panchito Pistoles in the 1944 Walt Disney film ''The Three Caballeros''. Career Born in El Oro, Mexico, Garay came to America at eleven months. He was a well-known radio performer in the 1940s, and opened the popular Copacabana nightclub in September 1941, which was frequented by visiting Hollywood celebrities. He hosted shows in the nightclub and performed in vaudeville, and recorded an album in the mid-40s, "A Night at Joaquin Garay's Copacabana". Garay voiced the Mexican rooster Panchito in 1944, teaming up with Clarence Nash as Donald Duck and José Oliveira as José Carioca to sing ''The Three Caballeros title song. ''Herbie Goes Bananas'' is a 1980 American comedy adventure film and the fourth installment of ''The Love Bug'' film series made by Walt Disney Productions starring Herbie – the white Volkswagen racing Beetle with a mind of its own. Plot Picking up sometime after the '' Trans-France Race'', protagonist Pete Stancheck has inherited Herbie from his uncle Jim Douglas and travels to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with his friend Davy "D.J." Val Garay (born May 9, 1942, in San Francisco, California, United States) is an American recording engineer and record producer who has worked with Kim Carnes, Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Neil Diamond, and others. Garay also co-founded Los Angeles recording studio Record One. Career Garay, the son of well-known Latin singer the late Joaquin Garay and grandson Joaquin Garay III grew up in Burlingame, California, where he graduated from Burlingame High School. A songwriter and guitarist, Garay left behind studies at Stanford University School of Medicine to pursue a career as a professional musician. In the mid-1970s Garay's manager, Michael J. ''Mannix'' is an American detective television series that ran from 1967 to 1975 on CBS. It was created by Richard Levinson and William Link, and developed by executive producer Bruce Geller. The title character, Joe Mannix, is a private investigator played by actor Mike Connors.
