Sacramento Film And Music Festival
The Sacramento Film and Music Festival (SF&MF) is a large, multi-day, all-genre international film festival held in Sacramento, California in the United States. It has been in operation since 2000. The festival's mission is to celebrate filmmaking from around the world and sponsor the art of film in California's Capital region. History For the 2011 season, the festival's 12th, the event was divided into two parts with the WinterFEST January 15–17 and the SummerFEST August 18–21. The WinterFEST dates coincided with the Martin Luther King holiday weekend and in addition to the usual range of film programming, the program documentaries with themes of politics, peace, and social justice including "Sowing the Seeds of Justice" about the life and legal career of Cruz Reynoso. The 2010 festival dates were July 23 - August 1, opening with the feature documentary "Official Rejection" about the difficulties of getting films into film festivals. David Garibaldi (artist)
David Michael Garibaldi (born December 15, 1982) is an American performance painter. His specialty is his "Rhythm and Hue" stage act in which he rapidly creates paintings of notable figures of popular culture. Early life Garibaldi was born in Los Angeles, California. He attended Sheldon High School in Northern California, where he later dropped out. Career In July 2006, Garibaldi was invited to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, where he painted a portrait of Mick Jagger. In September 2008, Garibaldi was the opening act for Blue Man Group's tour in Canada and the United States. He has also opened for Snoop Dogg. Sacramento French Film Festival
The Sacramento French Film Festival is an annual film festival founded in 2001 held on the last two weekends of June at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, California. It celebrates the present as well as the rich history of French cinema featuring new releases and rarely seen classics. It is the only festival dedicated to French cinema in Northern California and one of only two on the West coast. It was described in the ''Sacramento Bee'' in July 2003, as “the Cinematic Highlight of Sacramento's Summer”. The SFFF opens each year on a Friday night with a catered reception followed by the opening film. Films continue all day long Saturday and Sunday for two consecutive weekends.
