Sacramento Express
The Sacramento Express were a professional American rugby union team that played in the short lived PRO Rugby competition. They were based in Sacramento, California, and played their home games at Bonney Field. History In early November 2015, PRO Rugby launched its Facebook page and scheduled an announcement for November 9, 2015. On November 9, 2015, PRO Rugby made an official announcement outlining its plans and a framework for the competition. USA Rugby affirmed that it sanctioned and supported the PRO Rugby competition. PRO Rugby announced its first team, Sacramento, on November 18, 2015. In February 2016, Luke Gross was announced as the head coach of the new Sacramento PRO Rugby team. Ray Barkwill
Raymond "Ray" Barkwill (born 26 August 1980) is a retired Canadian rugby union player who played for a number of teams before ending his career at Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby where he helped win the inaugural title including scoring a try in the final. Ray also played for the Canada national rugby union team and was the first Canadian to play in Super Rugby. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Barkwill began playing his rugby at Westlane Secondary School along with Niagara Wasp RFC, it was here that he and teammates learned the invaluable "Tooq Bomb". John Quill (born March 10, 1990) is a retired Irish-born American rugby union player who played flanker for Rugby United New York (RUNY) in Major League Rugby (MLR) and the United States men's national team. Quill has previously played for the Glendale Raptors (MLR), Sacramento Express (PRO Rugby), and London Welsh. Eric Fry (born September 14, 1987) is an American international rugby union player who plays prop. Fry last played for RC Vannes of the Pro D2 in France, and previously played in the English Premiership for Newcastle Falcons and London Scottish in the RFU Championship. He can play either tighthead prop or loosehead prop, and is considered a strong scrummager with a high work rate.
