''Saamy'' ( God) is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language action masala film written and directed by Hari. The film was presented by K. Balachander and produced by Pushpa Kandasamy under banner Kavithalayaa Productions. The film stars Vikram and Trisha and Kota Srinivasa Rao (debut in Tamil cinema) in a negative role. Music was composed by Harris Jayaraj. Upon release, the film was highly successful at the box office. It was remade in Telugu as '' Lakshmi Narasimha'' (2004) starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, in Bengali as ''Barood'' starring Mithun Chakraborty, loosely in Kannada as '' Ayya'' (2005) starring Darshan and later in Hindi as '' Policegiri'' (2013)(Directed by K.S. ''Saamy 2'', Also known as ''Saamy Square'',''Cringe Square'', is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Hari and produced by Shibu Thameens. Hari Gopalakrishnan is an Indian film director best known for his action and masala films in Tamil cinema. He made his directorial debut with '' Thamizh'' (2002). He later directed films such as '' Saamy'' (2003), '' Kovil'' (2004), '' Ayya'' (2005), ''Thaamirabharani'' (2007), '' Vel'' (2007) and the '' Singam film series'' (2010-2017). Kota Srinivasa Rao (born 10 July 1942) is an Indian character actor known for his work primarily in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. ''Policegiri'' () is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by T. P. Aggarwal and Rahul Aggarwal. Priyan (1964 – 9 November 2017) was an Indian cinematographer who has worked on Tamil language films. Beginning his career as an assistant to Balu Mahendra, Priyan began his career as an independent technician in the 1990s before establishing himself as a leading cinematographer in the Tamil film industry in the 2000s.
