SVT Europa
SVT World was an international television channel from the Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television. The channel was available on satellite in Europe and much of Africa, Australia and Asia, terrestrially in parts of Finland and worldwide via IPTV. The broadcasts were mostly made up of the Swedish language programmes from SVT1 and SVT2. If both SVT1 and SVT2 show a programme for which SVT does not have international rights, programmes from SVT24 or Kunskapskanalen are shown. When SVT1 and SVT2 are not broadcasting, SVT24 is shown. Teletext pages from SVT Text were included in the broadcasts. The radio channels Radio Sweden and SR P4 were also included with SVT Europa. Sveriges Television AB ("Sweden's Television Stock Company"), shortened to SVT (), is the Sweden, Swedish national public broadcasting, public television broadcaster, funded by a public service tax on personal income set by the Riksdag (national parliament). Prior to 2019, SVT was funded by a television licence fee payable by all owners of television sets. Yle Teema & Fem is a Finnish free-to-air television channel owned by Finnish state-broadcaster Yle. It was launched on 24 April 2017, after Yle Teema and Yle Fem merged to this channel. Teema & Fem is Yle's channel for culture, education, and science. The "Teema" hours focus on recordings of performing arts, classical music, art, and history documentaries, films, and themed programming. The channel also broadcasts Swedish-language news (including yle's Swedish-language evening bulletin TV-nytt), factual and children's programmes and entertainment as part of the "Fem" hours. It also shows many Nordic films and series and Sami-language Ođđasat. Finnish and Swedish subtitles are available for many programmes not originally in those respective languages. Yle Fem (''Yle Five'') was Yle's Finland-Swedish national television channel, providing television programmes in the Swedish language in Finland. It was a public-service channel principally intended for Finland's Swedish-speaking minority. Creating understanding over the language and culture border was also one of the channel's recognized objectives. Eurobird was a series of satellites owned and operated by Eutelsat. The Eurobird satellites provided broadcasting and telecommunication services primarily to the Western and Central European region from orbital positions of 9, 25.5 and 33 degrees East.
