X6 was a series of three-car electric multiple units operated by Statens Järnvägar (SJ) of Sweden as local trains around Stockholm and Göteborg. Three units were built by Allmänna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget (ASEA) in 1960 and were in service until 1985. SL X10
X10 is a series of two-car electric multiple units which was formerly operated by Greater Stockholm Transport (SL) on the Stockholm commuter rail between 1983 and 2017, when the City Line project made them imcompatible with the X60 train sets. The X10 was operated in sets of up to five units, making ten-car trains, each unit consisting of one motor car and one unpowered car. They were completely compatible with the X1 introduced in the 1960s. 101 units were built by ASEA between 1982 and 1993. Between 1993 and 1999, 49 X10 units were rebuilt to X11 for the Skåne Commuter Rail and the Gothenburg Commuter Rail. They have a different interior more suitable for regional traffic and are slightly heavier and have toilets (X10 don't have them since most SL stations have toilets). SL X1
X1 was a series of two-car electric multiple units (twin units) operated by Greater Stockholm Transport (SL) on the Stockholm commuter rail. The X1 was operated in sets of up to five units, making ten-car trains, each unit consisting of one motor car and one unpowered car. 104 units were built by ASEA in 1967–75 and were replaced by the new X60. The X1 also served as the foundation for the later X10–X14 series trains, built in the 1980s and 1990s. History The X1 was based on the SJ X6 taken into service in the 1960s, that had replaced locomotive-pulled trains. The X1 interior was based more on the Stockholm Metro with five-abreast seating and three doors per car. The system is an important part of the public transport in Stockholm, and is controlled by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik. Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, or more formally Aktiebolaget Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (Greater Stockholm Local Transit Company), is the organisation running all of the land based public transport systems in Stockholm County. Märsta () is a suburb of Metropolitan Stockholm, a locality and the seat of Sigtuna Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 27,034 inhabitants in 2015. The town is situated close to Stockholm's main international airport, Arlanda. Even though its origins go back to around 500 AD, Märsta is a widespread modern residential area. Märsta has a mix of multi-storey dwellings and smaller houses. The Swedish State Railways ( sv, Statens Järnvägar) or SJ, originally the Royal Railway Board ( sv, Kungl. Järnvägsstyrelsen), was the former government agency responsible for operating the state-owned railways in Sweden.
