The Albanian State Road 2 (SH2), (Albanian: ''Rruga Shteterore 2'') is a dual carriageway in Albania linking the port city of Durrës with the metropolis and the capital Tirana. The road was the first highway to be reconstructed in Albania, following the Fall of Communism in 1991. Route The National Road SH2 begins at the Port of Durrës in Durrës, at the Dajlani Overpass (Albanian: Ura e Dajlanit), bypasses Shijak, intersects with SH52 in Vorë, bypasses the road to Tirana International Airport, and ends at the Kamza Overpass (Albanian: Mbikalimi i Kamzës) in the outskirts of Tirana where it meets National Road SH1 heading to northern Albania. Once entering Tirana, the highway becomes the street named ''Rruga 29 Nëntori''. Durrës County ( sq, Qarku i Durrësit), officially the County of Durrës ( sq, Qarku i Durrësit, italic=unset), is a county in the Northern Region of the Republic of Albania. It is the smallest by area and the second most populous of the twelve counties, with 292,029 people within an area of . The county borders on the Adriatic Sea to the west, the counties of Lezhë to the north, Dibër to the east and Tirana to the south. Vorë
Vorë ( sq-definite, Vora) is a municipality in Tirana County, central Albania. It was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Bërxullë, Prezë and Vorë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Vorë. The total population is 25,511 (2011 census), in a total area of 82.76 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 10,901. National Road 1 (Albania)
The national road SH1 ( sq, Rruga Shtetërore 1) is a national highway in Albania. It has a length of across the counties of Durrës, Lezhë, Shkodër and Tirana. As part of the European routes E762 and E851, the highway constitute portion of a larger corridor connecting Montenegro in the northwest with Tirana in the southwest thus forming as well as part of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway. In recent years, the road has been undergoing major reconstruction works in several parts. Route Tha National Road SH1 leads to the Albanian-Montenegrin border at Hani i Hotit border crossing. Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Shijak ( sq-definite, Shijaku) is a town and a municipality in Durrës County, west-central Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Gjepalaj, Maminas, Shijak and Xhafzotaj, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Shijak. The total population is 27,861 (2011 census), in a total area of 92.24 km2. The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 7,568.
