SG Wattenscheid 09 is a Football in Germany, German association football club located in Wattenscheid, Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club claimed an official founding date of 18 September 1909 as Ballspiel-Verein Wattenscheid out of the merger of two earlier sides known as BV Sodalität der Wattenscheid and BV Teutonia Wattenscheid. On 23 October 2019, the club filed for bankruptcy and retired from the 2019–20 Regionalliga#Regionalliga West, 2019–20 Regionalliga West season, so it was relegated to the Oberliga Westfalen. History The club played quietly as a local side until briefly coming to notice in the World War II, war-ravaged Gauliga Westfalen, then a division of top flight German football, in the abbreviated 1944–45 season. Oberliga Nordrhein-Westfalen
The Nordrhein-Westfalen-Liga (''North Rhine-Westphalia League''; NRW-Liga) was the highest football league in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) from 2008 to 2012. It was one of the eleven Oberliga groups in German football, the fifth tier of the German football league system. With the reorganisation of the German league system in 2012, the NRW-Liga was disbanded once more as the Regionalliga West above it would then only contain clubs from North Rhine-Westphalia. Hans ("Hannes") Bongartz (born 3 October 1951) is a German football coach and former player. Club career Bongartz was born in Bonn. He began his footballing career at SG Wattenscheid 09 and became a central midfielder to be reckoned with even before moving to FC Schalke 04 in 1974. He moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 1978 where he was to finish his career in 1984. Altogether Bongartz played 298 Bundesliga games, scoring 39 goals. International career Bongartz participated in the Euro 1976 in Yugoslavia. Bongartz won four caps for the West Germany national team. Fahrudin Jusufi ( sr-Cyrl, Фахрудин Јусуфи, ; 8 December 1939 – 9 August 2019) was a Yugoslav footballer who most notably played for Partizan, Eintracht Frankfurt and the Yugoslav national team. Playing career Club career Jusufi was born into an ethnic Gorani family in the village of Zli Potok near Dragaš (Vardar Banovina, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, present-day Serbia). During his career, he played for FK Partizan, Eintracht Frankfurt, Germania Wiesbaden and FC Dornbirn, retiring in 1972. He was part of the Partizan squad when they became vice-champions of Europe after losing the 1966 European Cup Final against Real Madrid. International career On the national level, Jusufi played for Yugoslavia (55 matches), and was a participant at the 1962 FIFA World Cup and at the 1960 Summer Olympics, where his team won the gold medal.
