SBB RABe 501
The RABe 501, nicknamed ''Giruno'', is a high-speed electric multiple unit train built by Stadler Rail of Switzerland for the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). According to Stadler Rail, it is the world's first single-decker low-floor high-speed train. The trains are intended to replace the ETR610 trains on the trans-Alpine route between Milan (Italy) and Basel / Zürich, with eventually further connections with Germany and Austria. The main route goes through the 57 kilometre-long Gotthard Base Tunnel. As a consequence, the Giruno is also referred to as the "Gotthard train". The 11-car units operate with a top speed of and can accommodate up to 403 passengers (117 in first class, 286 in second class). Bussnang
Bussnang is a municipality in the district of Weinfelden in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. History Bussnang may be first mentioned in 822 as ''Pussinwanc''. During the Early Middle Ages, the Abbey of St. Gall owned much of the land around Bussnang. During the High Middle Ages, the Baron of Bussnang ruled over the village. Starting in 1443, it became part of the ''Herrschaft'' of Weinfelden in the low court of Bussnang-Rothenhausen. The Gallus Church was founded in 885, and in 1123 it was dedicated to John the Baptist. The right to appoint the priest was held by the Baron until 1464, when it went to the Commandry of Tobel. This right remained in Tobel until 1809, when it went to the canton of Thurgau, followed by the municipality in 1830. Andreas Meyer (born 9 April 1961, Basel, Switzerland) is a Swiss manager and lawyer. From January 2007 to September 2020, he has been Chairman of the Management Board of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). Since October 2020, he serves as president of the board at Starmind. Peter Christoph Spuhler (born 9 January 1959) is a Swiss industrialist and politician of the Swiss People's Party, where from 1999 to 2012 he served as a member of the Swiss National Council for the canton of Thurgau. Spuhler was CEO of the family firm Stadler Rail from 1989 to 2017 and from 2020 onwards. As of April 2019, he held a 40% shareholding in Stadler. Talgo (officially Patentes Talgo, SAU) is a Spanish manufacturer of intercity, standard, and high-speed passenger trains. Corporate history TALGO, an abbreviation of Tren Articulado Ligero Goicoechea Oriol (English: ''Lightweight articulated train Goicoechea Oriol''), and named after the company founders, Alejandro Goicoechea and José Luis Oriol.
