Søren Søndergaard (politician)
Søren Bo Søndergaard (born 16 August 1955 in Kyndby) is a Danish teacher, metalworker and politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Red-Green Alliance. He was elected into parliament at the 2015 Danish general election, and previously served from 1994 to 2005. He was a Member of the European Parliament for the People's Movement against the EU and associated member of GUE/NGL from 2007 to 2014. Political career Søndergaard was first elected into the Folketing at the 1994 election and was reelected in 1998 and 2001. From 2006 to 2007 he was a municipal council member of Gladsaxe Municipality. From 2007 to 2014 he was a member of the European Parliament. After the 2014 European Parliament election he failed to get reelected. In 2015 he ran for national parliament again and was elected. A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) is a person who has been elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament. When the European Parliament (then known as the Common Assembly of the ECSC) first met in 1952, its members were directly appointed by the governments of member states from among those already sitting in their own national parliaments. Since 1979, however, MEPs have been elected by direct universal suffrage. Earlier European organizations that were a precursor to the European Union did not have MEPs. Each member state establishes its own method for electing MEPs – and in some states this has changed over time – but the system chosen must be a form of proportional representation. 2019 Danish General Election
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections. The elections resulted in a victory for the "red bloc", comprising parties that supported the Social Democrats' leader Mette Frederiksen as candidate for Prime Minister. The "red bloc", consisting of the Social Democrats, the Social Liberals, Socialist People's Party, the Red–Green Alliance, the Faroese Social Democratic Party and the Greenlandic Siumut, won 93 of the 179 seats, securing a parliamentary majority. People's, branded as ''People's Viennaline'' until May 2018, and legally ''Altenrhein Luftfahrt GmbH'', is an Austrian airline headquartered in Vienna. It operates scheduled and charter passenger flights mainly from its base at St. Gallen-Altenrhein Airport in Switzerland. History Founded as People's Viennaline in 2010, the first revenue flight of the company took place on 27 March 2011. For several years, People's only operated a single scheduled route between its homebase and Vienna. However, the route network has since been expanded with some seasonal and charter services. Frederikssund Municipality
Frederikssund Kommune () is a municipality ( da, Commune (subnational entity), kommune) on the shores of Roskilde Fjord in the northern part of the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. On 1 January 2007, the municipality was enlarged to include the old Jægerspris, Slangerup, and Skibby municipalities. It now covers an area of 250 km² and has a population of 44,401 (1 January 2014).
