The list of churches in Hamar is a list of the Church of Norway churches in the Diocese of Hamar which includes all of Innlandet county (plus two municipalities in Viken (county), Viken county) in Norway. The list is divided into several sections, one for each deanery (; headed by a Provost (religion), provost) in the diocese. Administratively within each deanery, the churches are divided by municipalities each of which has their own church council () and then into parishes () which have their own councils (). Storhamar Church
Storhamar Church ( no, Storhamar kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Hamar Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the town of Hamar. It is one of the churches for the Hamar parish which is part of the Hamar domprosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The white, concrete church was built in a rectangular design in 1975 using plans drawn up by the architect Willy Sveen. The church seats about 380 people. History As the town of Hamar grew, the need for a new church in the town became apparent. In 1971, land in a residential area in the west part of the town was acquired for a new church. The church was designed by Willy Sveen. The church was constructed out of concrete blocks during 1974–1975. It was consecrated on 5 October 1975. Hamar Cathedral ( no, Hamar domkirke) is the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Hamar within the Church of Norway. The cathedral is located in the town of Hamar which is in Hamar Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is one of the churches for the Hamar parish which is part of the Hamar domprosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The whitewashed brick church was built in a long church design in 1866 using plans drawn up by the architect Heinrich Ernst Schirmer. The church seats about 380 people. History For several centuries, the Catholic Church ran the Old Hamar Cathedral in the town of Hamar. This cathedral was constructed from 1152 to 1200 and it served as the seat of the old Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamar until the Protestant Reformation. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Jevnaker is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Jevnaker with a population of 4,302. The parish of ''Jævnaker'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area of Lunner was separated from the municipality of Jevnaker on 1 January 1898 to form a municipality of its own.
