''Rêves de poussière'' ('' en, Dreams of Dust'' or ''Buried Dreams'') is a 2006 film by director Laurent Salgues. Plot ''Rêves de poussière'' tells of Mocktar Dicko, a Nigerien peasant, who goes to look for work in a gold mine in northeastern Burkina Faso. He hopes to forget the past in this prison, where the bars are made of dust and wind. Production The film was the first full-length feature by Salges. The project quickly secured Avance sur Recettes and GAN Foundation funding, and gained further French and European funding since the director had obtained Burkina Faso citizenship through marriage. The film was a France-Canada co-production between Athénaïse – Sophie Salbot and ACPAV – Marc Daigle. The associate producer was Sékou Traoré of the Burkina Faso company Sahelis Productions. ''Sia, The Dream of the Python'' (french: Sia, le rêve du python) is a 2001 film by Burkina Faso-based filmmaker Dani Kouyaté. Plot Kaya Maghan, the despotic king of Wagadou, follows the instructions of his priest by ordering the religious sacrifice to the Python God of Sia Yatabaree, the virgin daughter of a notable family. A gift of gold equivalent to Sia’s weight is given to her family as compensation for surrendering their daughter for the sacrifice. However, Sia runs away and finds shelter in the home of a mad prophet who has railed against the king. The king orders his top general to locate Sia, but the general is conflicted since Sia was engaged to marry his nephew, Mamadi, who is in battle on behalf of the kingdom. Mamadi returns and joins his uncle to do battle against the Python God. Laurent Salgues (born 13 September 1967) is a French filmmaker. Laurent Salgues was born on 13 September 1967. He attended the École Supérieure d'Audiovisuel (ESAV) in Toulouse, where he obtained a master's degree in audiovisual studies. He went on to the Conservatoire Européen d'Ecriture Audiovisuelle (CEEA) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for further studies in screenplay writing. Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (; ar, محمد الصالح هارون) was born in 1961 in Abéché, Chad. He is a film director from Chad. He left Chad during the civil wars of the 1980s. Haroun is the first Chadian full-length film director. He both writes and directs his films. Though he has lived in France since 1982, most of his films have been set in and made in Chad. ''A Screaming Man'' (french: Un homme qui crie) is a 2010 drama film by Mahamat Saleh Haroun, starring Youssouf Djaoro and Diouc Koma. Set in 2006, it revolves around the civil war in Chad, and tells the story of a man who sends his son to war in order to regain his position at an upscale hotel.
