São Paulo Railway Company
The São Paulo Railway Company (SPR, nickname ''Ingleza'', transl.: ''The English'') was a privately owned British railway company in Brazil, which operated the gauge railway from the seaport at Santos via São Paulo to Jundiaí. The company was nationalised in 1946 and became the Estrada de Ferro Santos-Jundiaí. Mauá
Mauá () is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, in Brazil. Is part of the metropolitan region of São Paulo. The population as of 2020 is 477,552 inhabitants (11th largest city in population number of the state), the density is and the area is . Immigrant Inn
The Immigrant Inn ( pt-BR, Hospedaria dos Imigrantes) is a building in São Paulo. Construction started in 1886, and opened in 1887 (before completion), with the first group of immigrants arriving on 5 June 1887, before construction was completed in 1888. It was the main place for new immigrants to stay when arriving in the state of São Paulo at a time when coffee production in Brazil was being expanded and slavery in Brazil had been abolished. During the 19th and 20th century, people from over 70 nationalities arrived in Brazil, and over 2.5 million passed through the hostel. It replaced a former hostel in the Bom Retiro district that was in poor condition and lacked basic sanitation. Juventus-Mooca (CPTM)
Juventus-Mooca is a train station on CPTM's Line 10-Turquoise. It's located in the city of São Paulo. History With the implementation of São Paulo Railway in 1867, many residential and industrial urban agglomerations were formed around it, instigating the creation of new station (besides the original ones predicted). On 20 October 1892, the beer factory Bavária de Henrique Stupakoff & Cia. was built. Located by the railway in Mooca, in a farmhouse belonging to the engineer and surveyor Daniel Fox, the Bavária factory increase the people and cargo traffic in the region. Thus, São Paulo Railway implanted Mooca station next to the factory, opened by São Paulo Railway on 7 September 1898. The movement in Mooca station grew as other factories were built around it, being one of the main railway warehouses in São Paulo. Ipiranga (CPTM)
Ipiranga is a train station on CPTM Line 10-Turquoise, located in the city of São Paulo. The station is located on the west side of Vila Prudente district. History Ipiranga station opened on 1 April 1886, to serve as a support structure to the project for the Ipiranga Museum. It was built between 1885 and 1890. After World War II, an industrial boom in the surrounding region increased the station's use. This industrial movement reached its highest point in the 1950s, with the arrival of the Ford Motor Co. factory in 1953, which rerouted railroads to reach its installations. Tamanduateí, formerly Studebaker/Vemag Stop, is a train station on CPTM Line 10-Turquoise, with connection to São Paulo Metro Line 2-Green. Utinga is a train station on CPTM Line 10-Turquoise, located in the district of Utinga, city of Santo André. History In April 1932, São Paulo Railway announced the construction of Utinga station to attend the homonymous neighbourhood in Santo André. On 1 August 1933, the station was opened. In mid-1960, a new building was built to attend the growing demand. The station was transferred from the federal administration (CBTU) to the state administration (CPTM) on 1 June 1994. Prefeito Saladino is a train station on CPTM Line 10-Turquoise, located in the city of Santo André. History Prefeito Saladino stop was implemented on 29 November 1952. With the growing of the region, a new building was built between 1964 and 1966, being opened on 29 March 1966. On this date, the stop was promoted to station. The construction of the new stations encouraged SESI to install a facility in its surroundings in 1972.
