Sokol
The Sokol movement (, ''falcon'') is an all-age gymnastics organization first founded in Prague in the Czech region of Austria-Hungary in 1862 by Miroslav Tyrš and Jindřich Fügner. It was based upon the principle of " a strong mind in a sound body". The Sokol, through lectures, discussions, and group outings provided what Tyrš viewed as physical, moral, and intellectual training for the nation. This training extended to men of all ages and classes, and eventually to women. The movement also spread across all the regions populated by Slavic cultures, most of them part of either Austria-Hungary or the Russian Empire: present-day Slovakia, the Slovene Lands, Croatia, Serbia ( SK Soko), Bulgaria, Poland (Sokół), Ukraine, Belarus. Zsolt Szokol (born 16 March 1990) is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays for Sényő. Although uncommon for defenders, Szokol is said to be one of the fastest players of his generation. Carl Szokoll
Carl Szokoll (15 October 1915 – 25 August 2004) was an Austrian resistance fighter involved in the 20 July Plot, major in the Wehrmacht, and, after the war, author and film producer. Early life Szokoll was born in Vienna, the son of a low-ranking soldier in the Austrian army who had fought in the First World War and had been a long-term Russian prisoner of war. He grew up under poor circumstances in Vienna, but because he received excellent grades in primary and secondary school he was later admitted as an officer candidate in the Austrian army in 1934. In his years as a cadet, he met his wife Christl Kukula, the daughter of a Jewish Vienniese industrialist. After the Anschluss in 1938, he had to end his relationship with Kukula because of the Nuremberg laws that forbade romantic involvement with Jews. Elizabeth Szokol
Elizabeth Nicole Szokol (born June 17, 1995) is an American professional golfer and LPGA Tour member. Early life, college and amateur career Szokol grew up in Winnetka, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. An injury-prone athlete, she experienced her first knee surgery at age 12 after playing softball and tennis. The injury downtime helped her discover golf, which she took up at 14. She led her high school team to the 2010 Illinois State Championship. In 2012 she became the Illinois Women's Amateur Champion. Szokol attended Northwestern University between 2012 and 2014. In her sophomore year she made the Academic All-Big Ten and the Second Team All-Big Ten. At the 2013 Big Ten Championships, she helped the Wildcats tie for first and claim a share of the first Big Ten Conference title in program history.
