Wojciech Tomasz Szczęsny (; born 18 April 1990) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Juventus and the Poland national team. After starting his club career at Legia Warsaw, Szczęsny signed for Arsenal in January 2006, where he made his professional debut in 2009. After a spell on loan with Brentford the following season, he later became the capital club's first choice goalkeeper, winning two FA Cups and being the joint recipient of the 2013–14 Premier League Golden Glove with Petr Čech. Piotr Paweł Szczęsny (6 July 1963, Kraków – 29 October 2017, Warsaw) was a Polish chemist and a Mensa International, Mensa member who committed Self-immolation, suicide by immolation in protest against the policies of the ruling Law and Justice (Poland), Law and Justice government. He studied chemistry at Jagiellonian University and became a member of the Independent Students' Union. He worked in the 1980s in the "Solidarność" union federation. After graduation, he remained as an assistant at the university, and began his doctoral thesis. After 1989, he left the university and became co-founder of a publishing house, which edited manuals on chemistry. For ten years, he held the post of Chairman of a Society for Continuing Vocational Training. He worked as a consultant on business issues. In 2016 he closed his company. Maciej Wawrzyniec Szczęsny (pronounced ) (born 28 June 1965) is a former footballer from Poland, who played for Legia Warsaw, Widzew Łódź, Polonia Warsaw and Wisła Kraków as a goalkeeper. He participated in the UEFA Champions League with Legia Warsaw (1995–96 - reaching a quarterfinal) and Widzew Łódź (1996–97). Zygmunt Szczęsny Feliński (1 November 1822 in Voiutyn, now Ukraine – 17 September 1895 in Kraków) was a professor of the Saint Petersburg Roman Catholic Theological Academy, Archbishop of Warsaw in 1862-1883 (exiled by Tsar Alexander II to Yaroslavl for 20 years),and founder of the Franciscan Sisters of the Family of Mary. Jan Szczęsny Herburt (12 January 1567 – 31 December 1616) was a Poles, Polish political writer, diplomat and a member of the Polish Sejm parliament. An early supporter of Chancellor (Poland), Chancellor Jan Zamoyski, he took part in many diplomatic missions, most notably to Sweden, United Kingdom, Vatican City, the Vatican and the Ottoman Empire. He supported the election of King Sigismund III of Poland to the throne, but then became his adversary and joined the leaders of the infamous Zebrzydowski Rebellion in 1607. As a rebel, he was imprisoned by royalists from 1607 to 1609. Herburt was an author of many rebellion-related and anti-magnate treaties. He was also a founder of the Kudryntsi Castle. Antoni Szczęsny Godlewski
Antoni Szczęsny Godlewski, (nom-de-guerre ''Antek the Sprayer'') (January 11, 1923 in Warsaw – August 8, 1944, in Warsaw) was a legendary soldier of the Home Army and participant in the Warsaw Uprising. He was the son of the lawyer Franciszek and Aniela. He started high school in Warsaw but after the Nazi invasion of Poland, the Germans banned secondary education for Poles. As a result, Antoni finished his studies and obtained a high school diploma and continued his studies at an underground university of the Warsaw Polytechnic. At this time he joined the Home Army and became a member of its Security Corps. Stefan Szczesny (born 9 April 1951) is a German painter, draughtsman, and sculptor. He is best known for co-founding the Neue Wilde movement in the early 1980s. Biography 1951–1994 Stefan Szczesny was born in Munich as the son of the philosopher and publisher Gerhard Szczesny and his wife Martha Meuffel, a theatre producer. Upon attending primary and secondary schools in Munich, he acquired his first training as a painter at a private art school in Munich (1967–69). From 1969 to 1975, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. His mentor there was the abstract painter Günter Fruhtrunk.
