The Syrian Arab Football Association (SFA; ar, الاتحاد العربي السوري لكرة القدم) is the governing body of football in Syria, controlling the Syrian national team and the Syrian Premier League. The Syrian Football Association was founded in 1936 and has been a member of FIFA since 1937, the Asian Football Confederation since 1970, and the Sub-confederation regional body West Asian Football Federation since 2001. Al-Majd Sports Club ( ar, نادي المجد الرياضي) is a Syrian football club based in Damascus, Syria. The club is insignificant compared to the city rival Al-Wahda, but more popular than the other rival Al-Jaish. History The club was founded in 1932 under the name of Damascus Al-Ahly Club, and is one of the oldest football clubs in Damascus and the whole country. The club's greatest success is the Syrian cup victory in the 1960/61 and 1977/78 season. At the end of the 2007/08 season of Premier League, the club was runner-up and thus achieved its highest ranking in the league at all. Qusay Habib ( ar, قصي حبيب, born 15 April 1987 in Qamishli, Syria) is a Syrian footballer. He currently plays for Al-Wahda SC, which competes in the Syrian Premier League the top division in Syria.
