Syrian Revolutionary Command Council
The Syrian Revolutionary Command Council ( ar-at, مجلس قيادة الثورة السورية, Majlis Qiyādat ath-Thawra as-Sūriyya) was an alliance of 72 Syrian rebels factions involved in the Syrian Civil War that was formed on 3 August 2014 and remained active throughout 2015. The aim of the council was to increase the coordination and unity between the different groups, with the council planned to be divided into regional fronts that will be led by councils made up of representatives from the different factions, similar to how the Free Syrian Army was structured. The signatories represent both secular and Islamist groups; however al-Qaeda's al-Nusra Front and some of its allies were excluded. Initially Ahrar ash-Sham was also excluded, however the group did join the alliance in mid August 2014. The group announced its charter on 4 October 2014. Jabhat Ansar Al-Islam
Jabhat Ansar al-Islam ( ar, جبهة أنصار الإسلام; ''Supporters of Islam Front''), originally formed as Tajamu' Ansar al-Islam ( ar, تجمع أنصار الإسلام; ''Assembly of the Supporters of Islam'') in August 2012, is an independent Sunni Islamist Syrian rebel group active in the Quneitra and Daraa Governorates. Jabhat Ansar al-Islam is among dozens of Syrian rebel groups that have in the past been supplied with US-made BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles and Soviet-made 9K32 Strela-2 MANPADS with US approval. ''As-Safir'' ( ar, السفير, lit=The Ambassador), was a leading Arabic-language daily newspaper in Lebanon. The headquarters of the daily was in Beirut. It was in circulation from March 1974 until December 2016. The last issue of the paper was published on 31 December 2016. The online version was also closed on the same date. History and profile ''As-Safir'' was first published by Talal Salman on 26 March 1974 as an Arabic political daily. Talal Salman also served as chief editor of the paper. Al-Nusra Front–SRF/Hazzm Movement Conflict
The al-Nusra Front–SRF/Hazzm Movement conflict started in late October 2014, during the Syrian Civil War, in Idlib and Aleppo governorates, during which al-Nusra attempted to establish an Islamic state rival to that of ISIL. Despite this, the al-Nusra Front and Free Syrian Army factions continued to cooperate in the southern Syrian governorates of Quneitra and Daraa.
