The Syrian Olympic Committee ( ar, اللجنة الأولمبية السورية) is the National Olympic Committee in Syria for the Olympic Games movement. It is a non-profit organization led by the Syria, Syrian Arab Republic that selects players and teams to represent the nation, and raises funds to send to Olympic events organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Rafed Ziad El-Masri ( ar, رافد زياد المصري; born August 10, 1982) is a German former swimmer of Syrian origin, who specialized in sprint freestyle events. He is also a four-time national champion for Germany, and a gold medalist for the men's 50 m freestyle event at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar, representing his ancestral homeland Syria. Swimming career El-Masri was born and raised in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Lower Saxony, by Syrian immigrants, whom his father studied geology at the Clausthal University of Technology. The men's skeet shooting competition at the 2004 Summer Olympics was held on August 21 and 22 at the Markópoulo Olympic Shooting Centre near Athens, Greece. The event consisted of two rounds: a qualifier and a final. In the qualifier, each shooter fired 5 sets of 25 shots in the set order of skeet shooting.
