Synesthesia (Courage My Love Album)
Synesthesia is the second and final studio album from Canadian pop punk band Courage My Love. It was released on February 3, 2017. Synesthesia is Courage My Love's second full-length album, the first being a re-release of a previous EP. The album combines the pop punk sound the band is known for, plus elements of synthwave and synthpop. The album was influenced by drummer Phoenix Arn-Horn teaching herself synth programming. Courage My Love
Courage My Love is a Canadian rock band from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Formed in 2009 the band consists of twin sisters Mercedes Arn-Horn and Phoenix Arn-Horn in addition to bassist Brandon Lockwood. History The group was discovered at a battle of the bands in Stratford, Ontario in early 2010, and were soon signed to Warner Music Canada. They took their band name from a quote in the H.G. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. ''Alternative Press'' is an American entertainment magazine primarily focused on music and culture, now based in Los Angeles, CA. It generally provides readers with band interviews, photos, and relevant news. It was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea in Cleveland, OH. The company is now looked after by MDDN. Beginnings The first issue of ''Alternative Press'' was distributed at concerts in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in June 1985 by ''APs founder, Mike Shea to advocate bands playing underground music. The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. Mercedes Arn-Horn
Mercedes Arn-Horn (born October 31, 1993) is a Canadian musician, songwriter, director and actor. She is the lead singer and guitarist of Canadian rock band Softcult, and was formerly the lead singer, guitarist and keyboardist of the Canadian rock band Courage My Love. Early life Mercedes Arn-Horn was born in Toronto. One of her first influences was going to an Alice Cooper concert at the age of 11. Courage My Love Mercedes formed Courage My Love in 2009 with her twin sibling Phoenix Arn-Horn (drums, vocals, keyboards) and David Blake-Dickson (bass). The band were signed to Warner Canada in early 2010 after being discovered at a Battle of The Bands competition in their home town of Kitchener, Ontario. Arn-Horn was 17 years old when she signed the deal. Brandon Lockwood replaced David Blake-Dickson on bass in 2012.
