The Uytengsu Aquatics Center (originally the McDonald's Olympic Swim Stadium) is a 2,500-seat outdoor aquatics venue located on the campus of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, USA. Candy Costie
Candace Costie (born March 12, 1963) is an American competitor and Olympic champion in synchronized swimming. After claiming a silver medal in the women's duet at the 1982 World Aquatics Championships with her swimming partner Tracie Ruiz, they went on to secure gold medals in both the women's duet at the 1983 Pan American Games and the women's duet at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Their partnership also extended to winning four US national championships and one NCAA national championship. In 1985, Costie married Olympic silver medalist Doug Burke who was a member of the United States water polo team at the Los Angeles games. Artistic Swimming At The Summer Olympics
Artistic swimming (known as synchronised swimming until 2017) has been an event at the Summer Olympics since the 1984 Games. The current Olympic program has competition in ''duet'' and ''team'' events, but in past games there was also a ''solo'' event. The United States, Canada and Japan have traditionally been the strongest nations in the sport, winning the Olympic medals from 1984 through 1996, but Russia has recently dominated, winning every event between 2000 and 2020. Kelly Kryczka (born July 8, 1961) is a Canadian competitor in synchronized swimming, world champion and Olympic medalist. Career Kelly Kryczka began synchronized swimming at the Calgary Glencoe Club and then moved on to train with the Calgary Aquabelles. She and Helen Vanderburg earned gold in duet at the 1979 Canadian Aquatic Championships, a gold medal in duet at the 1979 Pan American Games in San Juan, and gold at the Federation Internationale De Natation Amateur Cup in 1979. Kryczka won the solo and duet events at the Canadian Aquatic Championships in 1980. After Helen Vanderburg retired in 1979 Kryczka paired with Sharon Hambrook. Carolyn Jane Waldo, (born December 11, 1964 in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadians, Canadian former synchronised swimming, synchronized swimmer and broadcaster. Competing both as a solo and as part of a duo with Michelle Cameron, Waldo experienced tremendous success in international competition. As part of the duo with Cameron, Waldo won at the 1985 Rome and Spanish Opens, 1985 FINA World Cup, 1986 Spanish Open, 1986 Commonwealth Games, 1986 World Championships, 1987 Pan Pacific Championships and the 1987 FINA World Cup.
