Sylosis is a British heavy metal band from Reading, Berkshire, England. Signed to Nuclear Blast Records, the band has released five studio albums, a live album, two EPs and twelve music videos. Their fifth album ''Cycle of Suffering'' was released on 7 February 2020. History Formation and ''Conclusion of an Age'' (2000–2009) Sylosis was formed in 2000 by guitarist Josh Middleton and bassist Carl Parnell who began playing extreme metal with other friends from school. Sylosis released a couple of EPs; 2006's ''Casting Shadows'' and 2007's ''The Supreme Oppressor'' in the UK on a small indie label, In at the Deep End Records. ''Monolith'' is the third full-length album released by British heavy metal band Sylosis. It was released on 5 October 2012, in Europe and 9 October 2012, in North America. Background On 31 March 2012, Sylosis released a teaser on YouTube simply entitled ''Sylosis III'' which featured clips of the band performing in a studio. Later, it was revealed that Sylosis had indeed started work on their third studio album just over a year after the release of ''Edge of the Earth''. Sylosis continued to tease the release of the new album by posting another video on YouTube, it was revealed in the video that the band were recording the new album at the Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield, Monmouthshire, Wales. ''Cycle of Suffering'' is the fifth studio album by British heavy metal band Sylosis, released on 7 February 2020 through Nuclear Blast. It is the band's first studio album since their hiatus in 2016, as well as their first to feature bassist Conor Marshall and drummer Ali Richardson, replacing Carl Parnell and Rob Callard. A music video for the song "I Sever", the first single from ''Cycle of Suffering'', was released for streaming on 6 December 2019. ''Conclusion of an Age'' is the debut album from Sylosis, a British metal band from Reading, Berkshire. The album was released on 24 October 2008 and was produced and recorded by Scott Atkins at Grindstone Studios. It was also the last release by the band to feature Jamie Graham on vocals. Although it is not strictly a concept album, there is a theme running throughout the album that relates to the collapse of human civilization and the return of the Earth to its natural state. The band stated in a press release that the album's lyrical theme deals with "the direction in which the planet is heading and the consequences humanity will face. The album covers many areas, but the main concept is the idea of mankind destroying itself through war, self-indulgence, religion etc. and how the earth is being ravaged by humanity to the point of being destroyed... but how the Earth's might will eventually prevail!" Rise to Remain was an English, London-based heavy metal band formed in 2006 and disbanded in 2015. The band made appearances at Download Festival, Sonisphere Festival and extensively toured the UK and Europe. The band released three EPs, the majority of which were "viral" releases, via their MySpace. On 16 March 2011 they signed their first major recording contract with EMI records, which was accompanied by the launch of their website and a free single download entitled "The Serpent". The Sonisphere Festival was a touring rock music festival which took place across Europe between the months of June and August. The festival was owned by John Jackson and Kilimanjaro Live. It was jointly promoted by K2 and Kilimanjaro Live. It hosted heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Slayer, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold and BABYMETAL (the latter group would make their UK debut at the 2014 event).
