Sylke Haverkorn
Sylke Haverkorn (born 6 April 1988) is a Dutch rugby union coach and former national player. Early life Sylke Haverkorn was born in Enschede, Netherlands, on 6 April 1988. Haverkorn started her sports career by performing judo, tennis and football. She later switched over to rugby. Playing career Club Between 2012 and 2016, she played for Rugbyende Utrechtse Studenten (RUS), the only all-female student rugby club in the Netherlands, and later for De Hanzeladies. She won five consecutive premier division titles with her teams. International She was also a permanent member of the Netherlands national rugby team. Coaching career Club In 2016, she took over the coaching position at RUS from Dj Verlinden, who had served ten years in the post. In the following two seasons, she became the head coach of the men's RC DIOK Leiden forwards. Enschede
Enschede (; known as in the local Twents dialect) is a municipality and city in the eastern Netherlands in the province of Overijssel and in the Twente region. The eastern parts of the urban area reaches the border of the German city of Gronau. The Netherlands women's national rugby union team are a national sporting side of Netherlands, representing them at rugby union. The side first played in 1982. History The Netherlands' women's national rugby union team hosted the first ever women's international women's rugby union match. This match took place in Utrecht on June 13, 1982. France won against the Netherlands with 4–0. The Netherlands made their debut at the 1991 World Cup. They finished in 7th place out of 12 teams. They hosted the 1998 World Cup and qualified for the 2002 World Cup, where they finished 13th and 15th. Women's rugby has increased in popularity in the Netherlands in the past decades. Turkey Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Turkey women's national rugby sevens team represents Turkey at rugby sevens – however it has yet to play any recognised international matches. Rugby union in Turkey is administered by the Turkish Rugby Federation. At present, the Federation is not a member of World Rugby and so, currently, any internationals it may play are unlikely to be widely recognised. Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. Rugby Tens
Rugby tens, also known as ten-a-side and Xs, is a variant of rugby union in which teams are made up of ten players, typically five Rugby union positions#Forwards, forwards and five Rugby union positions#Backs, backs. Matches are much shorter, usually played as two ten-minute halves. Unlike the other two major rugby union variants - sevens and beach rugby - which were invented in major rugby nations, rugby tens was developed in Malaysia, a nation that has never qualified for the Rugby World Cup. The rules (law variations) are similar to rugby sevens and are published on the World Rugby website. 2020 Rugby Europe Women's Championship
The 2020 Rugby Europe Women's Championship was the 24th edition of Rugby Europe's top division competition for women's national rugby union teams outside the Six Nations, and the twelfth such tournament for which the European Championship title was awarded. Spain won the title and advanced to the European Qualification Tournament to decide teams for the 2021 Rugby World Cup, with the winner of that tournament qualifying for the World Cup and the runner-up progressing to the repechage. The tournament was held from 7 March to 11 April 2020 as a knockout competition, with the three highest ranked teams in Europe not participating in the Women's Six Nations competing. The 2022 Rugby Europe Women's Championship was the 25th edition of the tournament. The competition was held from 20 to 27 February and was played in a round-robin format.
