Sylhet District Stadium
Sylhet District Stadium ( bn, সিলেট জেলা স্টেডিয়াম) is located in Rekabi Bazar, Sylhet, Bangladesh with a capacity of 15,000. It is a multipurpose stadium mostly used for football and cricket. The stadium is currently the home venue for Abahani Limited Dhaka and Rahmatganj MFS. History In September 2011, the stadium hosted a friendly football match between the Under-23 teams of Bangladesh and Nepal, to prepare for the Asian Games. More than 50,000 viewers entered the stadium premises forcibly, by breaking the main entrance of the stadium. The stadium has hosted the 2015 SAFF U-16 Championship where Bangladesh clinched the title and some matches of the 2015 Bangabandhu Cup. Almost a half-month long renovation which started on 20 September was done for the stadium for the 2018 Bangabandhu Cup. 2015 Bangabandhu Cup
The 2015 Bangabandhu Cup or 2015 Bangabandhu Gold Cup is an international association football tournament organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation as a tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This was the 3rd edition of the Bangabandhu Cup, after a hiatus of 16 years. It was finally given the go ahead to be played in early 2015 with six nations participating. Malaysia U-23 won the third edition, after beating Bangladesh U-23 in the final. This was also the first time the host reached the final of this tournament. Format In the group stage, six teams were divided into two groups of three teams, playing a single round-robin, with the teams finishing first and second in each group qualifying to the semi-finals. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. 2018 Bangabandhu Cup
The 2018 Bangabandhu Gold Cup or simply 2018 Bangabandhu Cup was an international association football tournament organized by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as a tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This was the 5th edition of the tournament with six teams competing from 1 to 12 October 2018. Participating teams Six nations competed in the tournament. BFF president Kazi Salahuddin has previously stated that the BFF wanted to get one team from each of the Asian Football Confederation's sub-confederations. The 2015 SAFF U-16 Championship was the 3rd edition of the SAFF U-16 Championship, an international association football, football competition for men's under-16 national teams organized by South Asian Football Federation, SAFF.
