Sylar is an American metalcore band formed in Queens, New York City, New York in 2011. The band members formed from various bands in the New York City post-hardcore scene, and took their name from the ''Heroes'' villain Sylar. The band is part of the NYHC movement, and consisted of vocalist Jayden Panesso, rhythm guitarist/clean vocalist Miguel Cardona, lead guitarist Dustin Jennings, bassist Travis Hufton, and drummer Cody Ash. History Sylar formed in Queens, New York in 2011, with Jayden Panesso and Thomas Veroutis after the two future band members connected on social media. The band has been described as creating a sound as if they use the studio "like an extra instrument... heavily produced and processed, with angular edits and heavily gated guitars creating an almost mechanical sound." Sylar
Sylar (Gabriel Gray) is a fictional character and a primary antagonist of the NBC superhero drama series ''Heroes''. Portrayed by Zachary Quinto, he is a super-powered serial killer who targets other Superhumans in order to steal their powers. He served as the primary villain of the first season and then as a recurring antagonist. Over the course of seasons two, three and four, the writers depicted Sylar attempting at various times and under different circumstances to become a hero or curb his desire to kill, undergoing relapses at various stages. In the series' penultimate episode he experienced over three years of penitence in a mental prison, and later identifies himself as a hero in what became the show's series finale due to cancellation. ''The Curse'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band Atreyu. It was released on June 29, 2004, under Victory Records. The album went on to produce three singles, "Bleeding Mascara" "Right Side of the Bed" and "The Crimson". The videos for "Right Side of the Bed" and "The Crimson" achieved much airplay on television networks such as MTV2 and Fuse. The songs also received airplay on some radio stations across various countries. Since its release, ''The Curse'' has gone on to sell more than 500,000 copies and it was certified gold by the RIAA on September 14, 2020. Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison was dismissed from the band on December 12, 2013. ''Deftones'' is the fourth studio album by American alternative metal band Deftones, released on May 20, 2003, by Maverick Records. The album features a broader spectrum of musical styles than the band's previous albums, ranging from some of their heaviest compositions to moody trip hop and shoegaze influences. It was the band's last album to be produced by Terry Date until '' Ohms'' in 2020, although he did produce their unreleased album ''Eros''. Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. They were formed by Chino Moreno (vocals, guitar), Stephen Carpenter (guitar), Abe Cunningham (drums), and Dominic Garcia (bass). During their first five years, the band's lineup changed several times, but stabilized in 1993 when Cunningham rejoined after his departure in 1990; by this time, Chi Cheng was bassist. The lineup remained stable for fifteen years, with the exception of keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado being added in 1999. Bring Me the Horizon (often abbreviated as BMTH) are a British rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004.
