Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from a reserved seat. Her husband, Harunur Rashid, is a Member of Parliament. Early life Syeda Asifa Ashrafi Papia was born on 1 March 1967 in Nilphamari District. His father's ancestral home was in Gopalpur, Lalpur upazila of Natore. Career Papia was elected to parliament from reserved seat as a Bangladesh Nationalist Party candidate in 2009. Harunur Rashid (born 1 January 1962) is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member from the Chapai Nawabganj-3 constituency since January 2019. Career Rashid was elected to Jatiya Sangsad from Chapai Nawabganj-3 in the June 1996 Bangladeshi general election as a candidate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He had received 77,929 votes while his nearest rival, Latifur Rahman (politician), Latifur Rahman of Awami League, had received 47,048 votes. Natore District
Natore district is a district of Rajshahi Division located in northern Bangladesh. It borders the metropolitan city of Rajshahi, and used to be part of Rajshahi district. History Natore was the District Headquarters of Rajshahi from 1769 to 1825. Administrative Natore subdivision was established in 1825 under Rajshahi district, on the eve of the shifting of the headquarters. During the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, a battle was fought between the Pakistani army and the freedom fighters of Mukti Bahini on March 29. About 40 members of the Pakistani army including Major Aslam and Captain Ishaq were killed.
