Syed Zafar Islam
Syed Zafar Islam is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh which is inside India Union. He is the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Islam is a former investment banker and the former Managing director at Deutsche Bank. He is regarded as one of the prominent Muslim leaders of the party. He was appointed as a non-official independent director of Air India in 2017 for three years. Political career Entry into politics Syed Zafar Islam was influenced by Narendra Modi's politics and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on 5 April 2014 after resigning as director of Deutsche Bank, India . A Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha (abbreviated: MP) is the representative of the Indian states to the one of the two houses of the Parliament of India (Rajya Sabha). Rajya Sabha MPs are elected by the electoral college of the elected members of the State Assembly with a system of proportional representation by a single transferable vote. Parliament of India is bicameral with two houses; Rajya Sabha (Upper house i.e. Council of States) and the Lok Sabha (Lower house i.e. House of the People). The total number of members of Rajya Sabha are lesser than the Members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha and have more restricted power than the lower house (Lok Sabha). Rajya Sabha Members From Uttar Pradesh
The Rajya Sabha (meaning the "Council of States") is the upper house of the Parliament of India. Uttar Pradesh state elects 31 members and they are indirectly elected by the state legislators of Uttar Pradesh. Members are elected for six years and 1/3 of members are retired after every two years. The number of seats, allocated to the party, are determined by the number of seats a party possesses during nomination and the party nominates a member to be voted on. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi (born 15 October 1957) is an Indian politician and was the Union Minister of Minority Affairs. 2020 Rajya Sabha elections were the set of indirect elections by the members of State legislatures of India, to elect new members to fill vacancies in the Rajya Sabha – the upper house of the Parliament of India.
