Syed Md. Ziaul Karim
Syed Md. Ziaul Karim is a judge of the High Court Division of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Karim was born on 12 December 1957. He has a bachelors in chemistry, a bachelor and masters in law, and a PhD. Career Karim joined the district court on 18 March 1986. On 18 April 1988, Karim became a lawyer of the High Court Division. He joined the appellate court on 28 November 1996 as a lawyer. Karim was appointed an additional judge of the High Court on 23 August 2004 and made permanent on 23 August 2006. Karim and Justice ANM Bashirullah granted bail to 13 Bangladesh Nationalist Party officials, including former Member of Parliament Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, on 21 June 2011 in a case filled over vandalism during general strike called by the party. Karim and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das gave a split verdict in the bail hearing of Bazlus Samad Adnan, who owned a garment factory in Rana Plaza, on 24 July 2014. High Court Division
The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. It consists of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh and the Judges of the High Court Division. The High Court Division exercises both original jurisdiction and appellate jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters. The prime jurisdiction of it is the Writ Jurisdiction, pursuant to which it is empowered under article 102 of the Constitution of Bangladesh to issue writ of certiorari, mandamus, quo warranto, prohibition and habeas corpus. Karimuddin Bharsha was a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician and the former Member of Parliament of Rangpur-1 & Rangpur-4. Early life Bharsha was born in Haragache, Kaunia Upazila, Rangpur District. Jatiya Party (Ershad)
The Jatiya Party ( bn, জাতীয় পার্টি, translit=Jatiyo Party, lit=National Party) is a conservative, nationalist political party in Bangladesh and is currently the main opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad, against the Awami League. The current chairman of the party is Ghulam Muhammad Quader. On 3 January 2019, the party announced its decision to join the Bangladesh Awami League-led Grand Alliance after having been in opposition for the previous parliamentary term. However, the party backtracked the next day and announced that it intended to remain part of the opposition. Currently, it holds Rangpur out of Bangladesh's 12 city corporations.
