Syed Fatemi Ahmed Rumi
Syed Fatemi Ahmed Rumi is a retired major general of the Bangladesh Army and former director general of Special Security Force. Career During the Bangladesh Nationalist Party rule from 2001 to 2006, Rumi served as the director general of Special Security Force. He backed the military supported caretaker government that took power during the 2006–2008 Bangladeshi political crisis. During his military service, other officers referred to him as Shada (white) Rumi to distinguish him from his contemporary Major General Sadik Hasan Rumi, who was known as Kala (black) Rumi. In January 2007, Rumi was made the general officer commanding of the 66th Infantry Division which was based in Rangpur Cantonment and Major General Sheikh Md Manirul Islam replaced him as the Director General of Special Security Force. Special Security Force
The Special Security Force (SSF) is a Bangladeshi law enforcement agency that provides protection to government officials and foreign dignitaries. Responsibility The mission of the SSF is to provide physical security to the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh, and any person designated as a very important person (VIP) by the Government of Bangladesh. Aminul Karim (born 1 July 1955) is a retired lieutenant general of Bangladesh Army. He served as the military secretary to the president of Bangladesh, Iajuddin Ahmed. He was a senior research fellow at the Asia Europe Institute, University of Malaya. Early life and education Aminul Karim was born on 1 July 1955 in Ranibari, Chandpur, Shibganj in Chapainawabganj. Sadik Hasan Rumi is a former Major General of Bangladesh Army who served as Director General of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) from May 2002 to May 2007. Career During the 1977 Bangladesh Air Force mutiny, Captain Rumi led an operation to rescue Abdul Gafoor Mahmud, Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force. 2006–2008 Bangladeshi Political Crisis
The 2006–2008 Bangladeshi political crisis began as a caretaker government (CTG) assumed power at the end of October 2006 following the end of term of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party administration. BNP government increased the age of chief justice retirement in an unconstitutional way to bias the appointment of the head of the caretaker government. CTG manages the government during the interim 90-day period and parliamentary elections.
