Syed Ali Hasan
Khan Bahadur Syed Ali Hasan was the captain of the ' MAO College Cricket Club', Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police and Inspector-General of Police in India. In 1930, he was knighted with the title of Khan Bahadur by British India. Biography He completed his BA from Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College, Aligarh in 1902. During student life, he played cricket and remained the Captain of the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College Cricket team for three consecutive years from 1899–1902. In his professional and administrative life, he became the Superintendent of Police (India) and then Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG). He retired as DIG from Farrukhabad. After retirement, he was reemployed and appointed as Inspector-General of Police (IG) in Gwalior. In 1930, he was knighted with the title of Khan Bahadur by British India. He died in 1962 at Lucknow. Cricket Club, Aligarh Muslim University (formerly, MAO Cricket Club) was established in the year 1878 at Aligarh. Club history Cricket at Aligarh Muslim University started in 1878 when the mathematics professor, Rama Shankar Mishra, founded a cricket club, whose members were expected to wear a uniform of blue flannel coat, shirt, knickerbockers and cap. The club didn't at first thrive. It was not till Theodore Beck arrived in 1883 that real interest in cricket and sports began. The club toured Simla, Patiala and Bombay and performed very well. In 1884 Theodore Beck took the club on a tour round the Punjab including a match against Government College, Lahore. When Indian team toured England in 1922, three players came from Aligarh. Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine and Sciences (IAMMS) ( ur, ) is a trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. Mohammad Hamid Ansari, former vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, formally inaugurated it on 21 April 2001. Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India gave accreditation to the academy in 2004 and promoted it as 'centre of excellence' in 2008. Frank Tarrant
Francis Alfred Tarrant (11 December 1880 – 29 January 1951) was an Australian cricketer whose first-class career spanned from 1899 to 1936, and included 329 matches. From Melbourne, Tarrant began his career with Victoria in Australia's Sheffield Shield, but found fame playing in England, with a long career as an all-rounder for Middlesex in the County Championship. After the First World War, he was mostly active in India, appearing for the Europeans in the Bombay Quadrangular tournament. Tarrant played his final first-class match at the age of 56, during the 1936–37 season. He had also umpired in two England–India Test matches (and several first-class games) several seasons earlier. Bill Brockwell
William Brockwell (21 January 1865 – 1 July 1935) was an English cricketer. Although primarily remembered as a batsman, he began his career as a fast-medium bowler. With George Lohmann, Tom Richardson and William Lockwood carrying all before them, Brockwell had few opportunities until they declined. However, from 1897 onwards, he was a very useful bowler and took 105 wickets in the 1899 season when Richardson was out of form and Lockwood never fully fit. Even in 1902, he took six for 37 on an excellent pitch in the last match of the season against Warwickshire. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan KCSI (17 October 1817 – 27 March 1898; also Sayyid Ahmad Khan) was an Indian Muslim reformer, philosopher, and educationist in nineteenth-century British India. Though initially espousing Hindu-Muslim unity, he became the pioneer of Muslim nationalism in India and is widely credited as the father of the two-nation theory, which formed the basis of the Pakistan movement.
