Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, is an Australian children's hospital located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales. On 1 July 2010 it became part of the newly formed Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead) incorporating the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children and the children's hospice Bear Cottage. The Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, is located approximately 6 kilometres from the Sydney Central Business District in the suburb of Randwick. Andrew John Refshauge (born on 16 January 1949) was a former Australian politician who was Deputy Premier of New South Wales from 1995 to 2005, a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly between 1983 and 2005, and a senior minister in the Carr ministry. Background and early career Refshauge was born in Melbourne, the son of Major General Sir William Refshauge who later became Honorary Physician to Queen Elizabeth II and Director-General of the Commonwealth Department of Health. He has three brothers and one sister. One brother, Richard Refshauge, was a Judge of the ACT Supreme Court. His sister, Kathryn Refshauge, is the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Sydney. Robert John Carr (born 28 September 1947) is an Australian retired politician and journalist who served as the 39th Premier of New South Wales from 1995 to 2005, as the leader of the NSW Branch of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). The Royal Hospital for Women (RHW) is a specialist hospital for women and babies located in the suburb of Randwick in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Royal Hospital for Women shares the Randwick Hospitals' Campus site with the Prince of Wales Hospital and the Sydney Children's Hospital, as well as the Prince of Wales Private Hospital. History The RHW began life in 1820 as a 'lying-in' hospital under auspices of the Benevolent Society. Elizabeth Macquarie, wife of the then Governor of New South Wales Lachlan Macquarie chaired a committee of the Society to establish the hospital.
