Sydney Bus Route 400
Sydney bus route 400 was a limited stops bus service in Sydney, Australia operated by State Transit between Bondi Junction and Burwood until 2018. From 2018 to 2021, it operated a truncated route between Bondi Junction and International Airport only, until it was discontinued. In its original form it was Sydney's busiest bus route. In 2021, it was replaced by Route 390X between Bondi Junction station and Maroubra, Route 350 between Maroubra and the Airport and Route 420 between Burwood and Mascot via the Airport, History Route 400 commenced operating as a limited stops service between Bondi Junction and Burwood stations on 17 July 1989. State Transit Authority
The State Transit Authority of New South Wales, also referred to as State Transit, was an agency of the Government of New South Wales operating bus services in Sydney. Superseding the Urban Transit Authority in 1989, it was also responsible for the provision of ferry services in Sydney until 2004 and bus and ferry services in Newcastle until 2017. Ansair
Ansair was an Australian bus bodybuilder owned by Ansett Transport Industries and later the Clifford Corporation. History Ansair was founded by Reg Ansett in 1945 at Tullamarine, to make bodies for his Ansett Pioneer coaches, as well as manufacture aircraft components for Ansett Airways. It also provided bus bodies for other operators. In 1987 a plant opened in Kingston, Tasmania, to make bodies for Scania buses used by Metro Tasmania, and in January 1993 a plant opened at East-West Airlines' former Tamworth Airport maintenance facility to make bodies for Scanias used by Sydney Buses. A destination sign (North American English) or destination indicator/destination blind (British English) is a sign mounted on the front, side or rear of a public transport vehicle, such as a bus, tram/streetcar or light rail vehicle, that displays the vehicle's route number and destination, or the route's number and name on transit systems using route names. The Mercedes-Benz O305 was a single deck, double deck and articulated bus manufactured by Mercedes-Benz in Mannheim, West Germany from 1968 until 1988. It was built as either a complete bus or a bus chassis and was the Mercedes-Benz adaptation of the unified German VöV-Standard-Bus design, that was produced by many different bus manufacturers including Büssing, Magirus-Deutz, MAN, Ikarus, Gräf/Steyr, Heuliez, Renault, and Pegaso. The O305 was designed for use as a single-decker bus, however it was later redesigned to accommodate double-decker bodies. Germany Mercedes-Benz unveiled the O305 prototype in 1967, production in Mannheim started in 1969.
