Switch Radio (also known as Switch Radio 107.5) is a British Community radio in the United Kingdom, community radio radio broadcasting, station, broadcasting from the North East Birmingham region, which transmits 24 hours a day on 107.5 FM broadcasting, FM, local Digital Audio Broadcasting, DAB and via Internet radio. History The station began life under its previous name, ''Vale FM'', when it was formed by residents from the Castle Vale estate in north east Birmingham in 1995. Switch Radio launched in April 2010 and still broadcasts from Castle Vale. Castle Vale is a housing estate located between Erdington, Minworth and Castle Bromwich. Currently Castle Vale makes up the Castle Vale Ward of Birmingham City Council which is part of Erdington constituency (having previously been part of Birmingham Hodge Hill (UK Parliament constituency), Hodge Hill constituency until recent times), northeast of Birmingham city centre in England. The area has an approximate population of 10,000 people and has a distinctly modern residential character stemming from its history as a postwar overspill estate. The West Midlands conurbation is the large conurbation that includes the cities of Birmingham and Wolverhampton and the towns of Sutton Coldfield, Dudley, Walsall, West Bromwich, Solihull, Stourbridge and Halesowen in the English West Midlands. Fox Hollies is an area of Birmingham, England, situated on the edge of Acocks Green district. It is named after the Fox Hollies Hall estate. It roughly includes the area around Fox Hollies Road (part of the A4040 Outer Ring Road), stretching from Acocks Green in the north, to Hall Green in the south. A showpiece housing estate was built to the east of Fox Hollies Road in the 1920s, around Fox Hollies Park. There was also a pub called the Fox Hollies at the junction of Fox Hollies Road and Olton Boulevard East, but this closed in 1997 and has since been demolished to make way for a supermarket. Tyburn is a ward in Birmingham, England formerly known as Kingsbury. It is part of the Erdington formal district and comprises Castle Vale, Fort Parkway in Castle Bromwich, the Pype Hayes area of Erdington, Birches Green and Tyburn Road.
