Swimming At The 2019 SEA Games
The swimming competitions at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Manila are being held at the New Clark City Aquatics Center from 4 to 9 December 2019. It is one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with diving, open water swimming, and water polo. Summary Singapore improved on its last SEA Games result and won over half the available gold medals, 23 out of 38, to be the first in swimming events again with a total of 37 medals. Singapore won all the relay events and set 13 Games records and seven Singaporean national records. Vietnam finished in second with 10 gold medals and 25 medals in total. A total of 20 Games records and 35 national records were broken. New Clark City Aquatics Center
New Clark City Aquatic Center is a swimming and diving venue at the New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, Philippines. It is one of the venues of the New Clark City Sports Hub, which is part of the National Government Administrative Center. It hosted the Aquatics at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, aquatics events of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and is set to host the 2023 Asian Swimming Championships. History The construction of the whole New Clark City Sports Hub, which also includes the Aquatics Center, began on April 25, 2018 with a cement-pouring ceremony. Jonathan Tan (swimmer)
Jonathan Tan (born 11 March 2002) is a Singaporean swimmer. He represented Singapore at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea and he finished in 34th place in the heats in the men's 50 metre freestyle event. He qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics after meeting the Olympics 'A' cut of 21.96 s for 50 m freestyle, clocking 21.91 s in the heats at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games. Swimming career In 2018, he represented Singapore at the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia and he competed in one individual event and two relays events. Quah Zheng Wen
Quah Zheng Wen (; born 29 September 1996) is a Singaporean professional swimmer who specialises in individual medley, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle events. Education Quah was educated at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) and had achieved 43 points out of a possible 45 for his IB Diploma. After completed his IB Diploma Programme, Quah was accepted into the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, but chose to defer his studies. He subsequently went on to enrol at the University of California, Berkeley in 2017, before graduating in 2021. Swimming career In June 2012, he set a national record in the 200 m individual medley. Welson Sim Wee Sheng (born 29 March 1997) is a Malaysian professional swimmer. He was the first Malaysian male swimmer to qualify for the men's 400 metre freestyle event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Joseph Isaac Schooling (born 16 June 1995) is a Singaporean professional swimmer who specialises in butterfly, freestyle and medley events. He was the gold medalist in the 100m butterfly at the 2016 Olympics, achieving Singapore's first ever Olympic gold medal.
