Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre
The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC; ) is a sports complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Co-owned by the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto Scarborough, it is operated by TPASC Inc., with programming offered by both the university and Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation. It is located at the northern grounds of the university's Scarborough campus near the intersection of Highway 401 and Morningside Avenue in the suburb of Scarborough. Opened to the public on September 2, 2014, the complex consists of a 3,500-seat aquatics arena (6,000 during the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games) with two Olympic-size swimming pools and a diving well; and a 2,000-seat field house that includes four full-sized gymnasiums, a fitness centre, a climbing wall, and a 200-metre track. Nathan Stein
Nathan Stein (born March 28, 1992) is a Paralympic swimmer from Canada. He competes in S10 classification events. Swimming career Stein represented Canada at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where he entered three events: the 50m and 100m freestyle (S10), the 100m butterfly and the 100m breaststroke. He made the finals of both the freestyle events, finishing fifth in the 100m, and in the 50m, his time of 23.58 saw him finish in second place to collect the silver medal. As well as Paralympic Success, Stein has also won medals at both the World Championships and the Parapan American Games. Personal history Stein was born in Maple Ridge, Canada in 1992. Stein has the condition osteochondritis dissecans in one of his knees, which is bone deficiency. He has had multiple operations on his knee since first breaking it at the age of 11. Phelipe Melo
Phelipe Andrews Melo Rodrigues (born 10 August 1990) is a paralympic swimmer from Brazil competing mainly in category S10 events. He was born with a club foot and had two surgeries when he was just four weeks old. After his second surgery when his foot was in the right position he had an infection which made his leg blow the knee and specially his tendon to stop growing, disabling his right foot movements. He started swimming when he was 8 months as physiotherapy. He also tried many different sports but his passion since childhood was swimming. First competitions His first competitions was for "Academia Movimento" located in Olinda-PE, he competed for 4 years for his team, in 2007 he moved to João Pessoa - PB and joined the state team C.I.E.F. where he archived regional gold medals and twice 3rd place at nationals competitions with able bodied swimmers (non-disabled). Luis Armando Andrade Guillen (born March 10, 1995) is a Mexican Paralympic swimmer. He was born in Baja California Sur, México. When Armando was 6 years old, in a car accident, he lost his arm. At that time, he started swimming as a form of therapy. Eventually, Armando earned the opportunity to compete in some competitions in Mexico and then in the Paralympics. From the age of eleven, Armando participated in the Paralympics. He went on to compete in the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara and the IPC World Swimming Championships in Glasgow 2015. Zachary Taylor McAllister (born December 8, 1987) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers. He was drafted out of high school by the New York Yankees in 2006.
