Lorenzo Perez Escalona
Lorenzo Perez Escalona (born February 4, 1986) is a Cuban Paralympic swimmer. He competed in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London where he won a silver and a bronze medal for the 50 and 100 m freestyle respectively. Niquero
Niquero is a municipality and town in the Granma Province of Cuba. It is located in the coastal region of the province, bordering the Gulf of Guacanayabo. Cape Cruz (''Cabo Cruz''), the westernmost point of the province is located in this municipality. History During Cuban Revolution, Niquero was the site of the landing of '' Granma'', a yacht boarded by 82 members of the 26th of July Movement, including Fidel Castro, Raúl Castro, Che Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos. On 2 December 1956 the yacht, departed from Tuxpan, in Mexico, landed in Los Cayuelos near the beach Playa Las Coloradas, few km in south of the town. The Desembarco del Granma National Park (i.e.: ''Landing of the Granma'' N. P.), located in south of the municipality, was named after the event. The 2019 Parapan American Games ( es, Juegos Parapanamericanos de 2019, links=no), officially the VI Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 ParaPan-Am Games, was an international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, celebrated in the tradition of the Parapan American Games as governed by the Americas Paralympic Committee, which was held from August 23 to September 1, 2019 in Lima, Peru. Bidding process Four bids were submitted for the 2019 Pan and Parapan American Games, and they were officially announced on February 1, 2013. These were Lima in Peru, Santiago in Chile, Ciudad Bolívar in Venezuela and La Punta, San Luis, La Punta in Argentina.
