Sun Yang (; ; born 1 December 1991) is a Chinese Olympic and world-record-holding competitive swimmer. In 2012, Sun became the first Chinese athlete to win an Olympic swimming gold medal. Pál Joensen (born 10 December 1990) is a Faroese elite swimmer. He was born in Vágur, Suðuroy, Faroe Islands. He has won World and European Championship medals. His bronze medal in the men's 1500 metre freestyle at the 2012 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) in Istanbul was the first medal won by a Faroese swimmer at the World Aquatic Championships. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics for Denmark in three events: 400 metre freestyle, 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay and 1500 metre freestyle. As a Faroese athlete, he competed for Denmark as the Faroe Islands do not have a separate Olympic body. Maarten Brzoskowski (born 19 September 1995) is a Dutch competitive swimmer of Polish origin who specializes in freestyle. He holds the Dutch records in both the long course and short course 400 meter freestyle events. His father's grandfather emigrated during World War I from Poland to the Netherlands. Career Brzoskowski participated in his first international championships at the 2014 European Aquatics Championships in Berlin, swimming the 400, 800, and 1500 meter freestyle events. Mads Glæsner
Mads Glæsner (born 18 October 1988 in Tårnby) is a Danish swimmer. He participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 400 metre freestyle and the 1500 metre freestyle disciplines. His swimming club is Vallensbæk-VAT but he trains at the National Training Center in Copenhagen. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 400 m freestyle and the 4 x 200 m freestyle relay. In June 2013, Glæsner was stripped of a gold and bronze medal from the 2012 World Short Course Championships after testing positive for levomethamphetamine. However, upon appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Glaesner's 1500-metre freestyle gold medal was reinstated based on the fact that a test after that race, two days after his initial positive test following the 400-metre free, was clean. He still forfeited the 400-metre freestyle bronze, which he did not appeal.
