Angelo De Augustine is an American musician residing in Thousand Oaks, California. He has collaborated with and opened for musician Sufjan Stevens. Early life His parents were both close to music. When he was 5 years old, his father left home. Angelo wanted to be a professional soccer player in his teens years, but an injury altered his trajectory. He began playing and writing music after receiving a guitar from a family friend. Career Angelo De Augustine self-released his first album in 2014, titled ''Spirals of Silence''. Asthmatic Kitty
Asthmatic Kitty is an American independent record label founded in 1999 by a community of musicians from Holland, Michigan led by Sufjan Stevens and his stepfather Lowell Brams. Some were Holland natives, and others had come to attend local colleges and universities. While the original Holland nucleus has dispersed across the country, the community has grown, with new artists and shared projects with other independent labels. The Library Catalog Music Series, inaugurated in 2009, showcases instrumental music by a wide variety of musicians, with eighteen albums in print as of February 2013, and more scheduled for release. Asthmatic Kitty is now based in Lander, Wyoming, Atlanta, Georgia and Brooklyn, New York. The label's name refers to Sara, a stray with feline asthma adopted by Lowell in 1994. ''Tomb'' is the third studio album by American musician Angelo de Augustine, released on Asthmatic Kitty on January 11, 2019. De Augustine collaborated with Thomas Bartlett on all 12 tracks. It is an alternative folk album about a breakup and its emotional fallout. Themes and influences Most of the songs were written after a breakup de Augustine experienced at the end of 2017. The subsequent pain and loss is the principal theme of the album. He draws a comparison between the breakup and his father leaving home.
