Sweet Mud
''Sweet Mud'' ( he, אדמה משוגעת) is a 2006 Israeli satirical drama film written and directed by Dror Shaul. The semi-autobiographical film was shot on the kibbutzim of Ruhama and Nir Eliyahu, and draws on Shaul's memories of growing up on a kibbutz with his mentally unstable and widowed mother. Plot Set in 1974, Dvir (Tomer Steinhof) is soon to turn 13 and lives with his mother Miri (Ronit Yudkevitz) at a progressive kibbutz populated by people who take pride in their open-minded attitudes. However, they're not so easygoing when it comes to Miri; she's been sent to a mental hospital more than once, and her instability is more than most of the residents want to deal with, leaving Dvir to look after his mother with the help of his older brother Eyal (Pini Tavger). Dror Shaul
Dror Shaul (born June 28, 1975) is an Israeli film-maker, commercial director and film writer-director, residing in Tel Aviv, Israel. Biography Shaul was born and raised in the Kibbutz Kissufim where he lived until the age of 22. Shaul was born to Tzipora Yefet Shaul and Ami Shaul (Saull) in Kibbutz Kissufim in the northwestern Negev. Dror is the younger brother of Ran and Tal Shaul. His grandfather, Sydney Saul, born in Poland (Yanova Belarus today), is a descendant of the Vilna Gaon family, whose parents were massacred in a pogrom in 1904, and he fled to the United States to his aunt Lena Gordon in Philadelphia. His father, Ami Shaul (Saull), was born and raised in Manhattan. He was a gifted musician who was accepted to the Academy of Music but immigrated to Israel at the age of 17. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Rivka Neumann ( he, רבקה נוימן; born 12 May 1956) is an Israeli actress. Neuman started her acting career at the age of 15, when she left Kibbutz Mishmaroth, in order to pursue her desire for acting.
