Swedish Swimming Federation
The Swedish Swimming Federation ( sv, Svenska Simförbundet, SSF) is the national federation for Aquatics in body of Swimming in Sweden, as well as the other Aquatics sports: diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and open water swimming. It was founded on 23 March 1904 and is a member of LEN and FINA. Competitions The Swedish Swimming Federation organizes the Swedish Swimming Championships, the Elitserien, the Women's Elitserien, the Swedish Synchronized Swimming Championships, the Swedish Diving Championships, the Swedish Swimming Grand Prix series and the Swedish Open Water Swimming Championships, national junior and youth championships and the national teams in the swimming disciplines. Current head coach for the Swedish swimming national team is Thomas Jansson, while the head coach for the diving team is Ulrika Knape. The men's 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay event at the 2008 Olympic Games took place on 10–11 August at the Beijing National Aquatics Center in Beijing, China. Prior to the race, the French team was reported to be very confident of its ultimate victory, with world record holder Alain Bernard saying: "The Americans? We're going to smash them. That’s what we came here for." Jonas Lars Persson (born 15 December 1983 in Malmö, Sweden) is an Olympic swimmer from Sweden. He swam for his homeland at the 2008 Olympics. Biography Persson was born 15 December 1983 in Slottstaden in Malmö, to Lars and Ingegerd Persson. In 2002, Jonas Persson won his first individual title in the Swedish Swimming Championships, on 200 m freestyle, after having won a silver in the Swedish Short Course Swimming Championships earlier the same year. Persson swam and attended school at the USA's University of Arizona for two years (2004–06), and more recently was at the University of Tennessee (2006–09), where he majored in Marketing and International Business. Stefan Nystrand
Stefan Nystrand (born 20 October 1981 in Haninge) is a freestyle swimmer from Sweden. Biography His father Sture Nystrand is a Swede and his mother Smiljana Kokeza is a Croat from Split. Nystrand, a short course (25 m) specialist, has won five individual medals in the FINA Short Course World Championships, and captured his first medal (silver) in long course (50 m) in the 100 m freestyle at the 2006 European Aquatics Championships in Budapest, behind Filippo Magnini of Italy. The following year he won a bronze medal at the 2007 World Aquatics Championships in Melbourne at the 50 m freestyle, with a new national record of 21.97. Lars Frölander
Lars Arne Frölander (born 26 May 1974) is a Swedish swimmer. He has competed in six consecutive Olympic Games (1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012). Biography Frölander was born in Boden. He grew up in Ornäs in Borlänge Municipality. In the 1992 Summer Olympics, he competed in the 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay along with Christer Wallin, Anders Holmertz and Tommy Werner. The Swedish team finished second behind the Unified Team. In the 1996 Summer Olympics, Frölander again finished second in the 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay with the Swedish team. The team consisted of Christer Wallin, Anders Holmertz, Frölander, Anders Lyrbring. This time the United States was the winning team. Petter Stymne (born 9 May 1983 in Ryd, Sweden) is a Swedish swimmer from Skövde, representing SK Neptun from Stockholm. He competed for his native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
