Tore Svennberg
Olof Teodor "Tore" Svennberg (28 February 1858 – 8 May 1941) was a Swedish actor and theatre director whose career spanned more than five decades. Biography Born in Stockholm, Tore Svennberg made his stage debut at the Folkan Theatre in his hometown in 1877. From 1878 to 1891 he was engaged with various national touring theatre companies with actress Julia Håkansson and was from time to time cast by Swedish stage director Albert Ranft. At the Swedish Theatre, he played in several August Strindberg dramas: ''Gustav Vasa'', starred in ''Erik XIV'' in 1899, ''A Dream Play'' in 1907 and '' The Dance of Death'' in 1919. He also appeared in many roles by Henrik Ibsen: as Helmer in ''A Doll's House'' in 1889, as Hjalmar Ekdahl in ''The Wild Duck'' in 1891 and as Borkman in ''John Gabriel Borkman'' in 1897. Håkan Karl Leonard Westergren (29 April 1899 – 15 October 1981) was a Swedish actor. Inga Tidblad
Inga Sofia Tidblad (29 May 1901 – 12 September 1975) was a Swedish actress. She was one of the most praised actresses in Swedish theatre during her lifetime. Biography Tidblad grew up in Stockholm as daughter to engineer Otto Tidblad and the formerly Helga Krumlinde. She was a student at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's famous acting school, the Royal Dramatic Training Academy (1919–22), where she during her student years already was recognized as a rising star by audience and critics for her debut performance of Ariel in Shakespeare's '' The Tempest'', where director Olof Molander had hand-picked her for the part, early recognizing her talent. After her graduation from drama school she worked at the Swedish Theatre, where she had her big star breakthrough in Sweden as Ophelia in ''Hamlet'', opposite Schanke in the title role, in 1924. Paul Merzbach
Paul Merzbach (27 November 1888 – September 1943) was an Austrian screenwriter and film director. Merzbach worked in the Austrian and Germany film industries during the early stages of his career. He worked initially on scripts, but in 1924 he directed his first film. During the late 1920s, Merzbach worked in Sweden before returning to Germany. Following the Nazi rise to power in 1933, Merzbach went into exile in Britain.Brinson, Dove & Taylor p.139 He worked in the British film industry for the remainder of his career. ''For Her Sake'' (Swedish: ''För hennes skull'') is a 1930 Swedish comedy film directed by Paul Merzbach. Starring is Gösta Ekman and Inga Tidblad. The film was the first Swedish sound film or "talkie" that was completely recorded in Sweden. Plot The young married couple Sigvard and Isabella Löfgren are constantly being sought by different companies where they are trading on the bill. Sigvard is a traveling salesman and Isabella works as a secretary at a theatre agency seeking artists for a revue. Gunnar Lanner, an artistic son of a fur dealer, goes to the theatre agency's office and tries to demand Isabella for money on her fur coat, as she has not made any payments on it for several months. But when Gunnar signs up in with Isabella, she instead thinks he is seeking a place in the revue, he therefore gets a number and is called in to the theatre managers office.
